I used to live in Virginia and would recommend Sheehy of Stafford or Fredericksburg. They gave me a good deal on my truck .

I highly recommend Brett at Kendall in Eugene. I got 4K off MSRP my 2018 before Christmas. The vehicle was on the lot though. Might not hurt to reach out to him to see if he can find you what you want.

I put a deposit down on a 7545 with tech and premium for $500 below invoice back at the end of November with Gresham Toyota. They were allocated a truck at the beginning of January but it didn't have the premium package. I passed on the truck and went to a different dealership since the communication was terrible with Gresham. I put a deposit down at Kendall Toyota of Bend for the same price during the first week of January and I'm hoping the truck gets allocated soon.

Kendall of Bend was second best price wise for me. They seemed like they would be great to work with just like Kendall of Eugene. Must be a Kendall thing ha

Another thing to consider is I got all of the options I wanted, and when the truck was allocated Toyota added extra things that Lassen gave me no problems about removing. So if you are picky like me, and want specific things, make sure you go with someone who won't say well this is the way Toyota makes them and we can't change it. They can easily change different things depending on if it's factory or port options. For me it was worth going with an honest person and paying a couple hundred more for the peace of mind I wouldn't be told "I can't".

Was looking at going into a local dealership (Socal) to pick up a:
    2018 Tacoma
    TRD Sport 4x2
    DBSC
    Color: Cement
Interior: TRD Sport Fabric in Graphite
    Options: Technology Package Only

and the best deal I've been able to find is $35,500 OTD. I feel like this is a reasonable offer for this location and color but am new to buying cars. I saw the invoice price in the sticky and see that this price is somewhat close to it but am not completely sure on how good of a deal it is. It'd be great to get some insight!

Thats about as good as it gets(otd price is hard to compare fyi, but since I'm in California I can figure it out) If you like the truck, go for it.

I got almost exact same price, but 7150 vs 7148 (same msrp). I thought it was a great price. I have to wait 6 weeks as they allocate it though, Toyota only has 9 built in Red is the entire US, and none in norcal.

My '18 DCSB Off Road with tech and premium packages (essentially all options) was sold to me for $36,500, a $5,000 discount off MSRP. Took very little negotiating for the price, but I used Costco pricing from another dealer as my leverage. My deal beat Costco.

In the Dallas area - I bought yesterday from Atkinson Toyota. I didn't get a killer deal like some of the posts here indicate, but no one else in the area was beating it. Got a blue DCSB TRD OR 2-wheel drive for about $2,400 off MSRP. I was in and out in under 2 hours including a test drive with very little bullshitting on the part of the dealer. My sales guy was Ricky, easy to work with.

Just placed a deposit for a 7545 in Quicksand w/ no options (how I like it!).

32,400 including everything except Oklahoma state taxes.

I used the technique spelled out in another thread of contacting 20+ dealers and playing them off each other...Sound like a decent deal?

    Hey all,

Thankful for this thread, there is some really good info in here for purchasing. I have my truck on hold now and people were not kidding, Tacoma shopping in California is a b***h. However, after calling/emailing about 15 dealerships I finally found one with great pricing and didn't waste your time with the back and forth.

Highly recommend Cris at Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa, CA. They have super good pricing off the start and are willing to work with you beyond that. Offer took 2 short emails and 2 short phone calls, all painless. Totally worth the drive from Bakersfield, CA.

Delivers on February 15th and this is a straight purchase, no trade-in:

    2018 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4x4
    Manual
    DCSB
    Color: Cement
    Interior: Graphite w/ Gun Metal
    Options: Technology Package

    MSRP: $36,250
    Price: $33,745
    OTD (CA-Estimate): $37,120

I would highly recommend Dan Clark from Fletcher Toyota. Another member on this thread recommended him. He bent over backwards to find the exact configuration I wanted from another dealer before it was built and traded for it. Great price out of the gate, and no hassle. If you're like me and don't have time to answer dealer phone calls all day that want to know when you'll be in to talk and would rather deal through email at your pace, then be sure to give Dan a call if you're in the region!

I traded in my 2004 Tundra with 172k miles. Sad to see it go, but am glad to be back in a Tacoma after having a 99 PreRunner prior to the Tundra.

    2018 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4
    Automatic
    DCLB
    Color: Cement
    Interior: Graphite w/ Gun Metal
    Options: Technology Package, Tonneau Cover

    MSRP: $39,398
    Price: $36,500

Interesting that you went from a tundra to Tacoma. How are your first impressions? I am thinking of moving from a F150, 1999 vintage to a Tacoma. It is about the same length as my 99. Actually the long bed is longer than my old 99. The sizes keep changing. I’d welcome getting something better than my 15 mpg hwy, And lower in the city of course. I’d like to have the better off road nimbleness of something smaller. I’m not trying to hijack this thread tho.

The Tundra was about 5" wider, 5" longer, so it's not a huge step down. The Tacoma is about 12" shorter than the Tundra since I had 20" wheels on it, so it "looks" like a smaller truck to me. If I had a 2nd gen or newer Tundra, the size difference would have been more pronounced. My main motivations were better gas mileage (13-14mpg in the Tundra) since I have a 40 mile commute each day, and I wanted the nimbleness of a smaller truck back. I have two kids so back seat space was also a concern, and I lost an inch or so in the rear feet area. I also do some light towing of a horse trailer and boat, and the Tacoma was rated at 6800lbs, just a tad above what the Tundra could tow. So far I like it a lot. I'm getting about 21mpg on the highway and hope it improves as the engine breaks in. The radar cruise control and lane departure work well, but the automatic headlights do not work well on the interstate--I'm convinced oncoming traffic must think I am crazy when using it! Overall I am very happy with the change.

Awesome price! It seems like $5k off msrp is about the max for a loaded #7544.

Well, I've managed to get one dealer around me down to $38,500 for the following:

2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4
    Automatic
    Color: Cement
    Interior: Leather
    Options: Technology Package, Premium Package

Probably won't get better than that around me, but I'm gonna give it a try.

Also, question: is it advisable to get the extended warranty I'm certain they will try to sell me? That's probably, what, another $2k-$4k.
