As a long standing forum lurker I already know this has been covered but this is my hard earned money at stake here

With literally months of research I’m still a bit lost. Hoping to get some answers here

    My budget is around 2k.
I have had my eyes on fox level 1 kit or the 6112/5160 bilstiens

I want 3 inch lift in the front and level with the back. So I’m thinking 1.5 AAL now I’m stuck on what to do for struts and coilovers. I live in Colorado and wheel heavily and often load the back with a few 100lbs of gear. Any links that will help or answers or experience would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone this is my first post on Taco world!!

Do you wheel pretty heavily? Do the 5100s start to fade after a while? I like the idea of the fox coils. But all I can find is they are preset for 2inch up front can’t find info if I can adjust to 3 inches

Wheel? No I am a Mall Crawler, and I believe most adjustable Coilover's pretty much stop at 2.5 inches

Hoping to hear from someone that has fox level 1 kit and if they got close to 3 inches or just did 1/2 spacer or what. I can’t find a lot of info on them. Even the 6112s are confusing. Some people said they got more 3 inches from 5th notch some day 2.5

Just about any adjustable coilover is going to start sucking in the ride department if you max it out.

Might want to start a thread in the actual suspension section

Ok anyway to move this thread over there? So if the ride starts to suck would a good option be to add a spacer and not have as much preload?

You can. Or just be happy with 2-2.5". It really doesn't make that much difference in fitting a 33" tire. If you wheel your gonna be trimming.

Ok. Makes sense. I always heaar talk about 3inch lifts so I figured it was easily achievable. With the aal im worried it won’t sit very level.

If you’re gonna load up the rear I would suggest not “leveling” the truck, unless you want it to sag and be nose high. I hate the look of a leveled truck, I like the back end higher so I can use like a truck.

Agreed. I guess it going to sag no matter what but atleast if it’s higher it won’t look as bad. My goal is to eventually add air suspension in the back aswell

find someone in your local area that has 3"'s on adjustable shocks and ask them to take you for a ride. If you like then your golden.

Also lift heights are often exaggerated(rounded up). I originally had 885's based on all the reports of peeps getting 2.5" outa them. That's about what they were when I took the truck off jack stands. With in a week of driving that had settled to 1.75". I emailed ARB and they said that was with in range for the springs and there was no way I would ever get 2.5".

For 2k you can get a great setup with a real leaf pack that will support extra gear weight in the bed.

I got the same out of the 885s, then bumper and winch I had about 1.25”. 1/2” spacer driver and 1/4” passenger got me to 22.5” hub to fender.

I have been thinking about the full leaf pack. Just want experiences and advice and take what I can before pull the trigger. Want to do this lift once and be happy with it

I have Dakar rear springs just like 50% of TW, they do the job really well. The ride is firm when the bed is empty and good with some weight in the back.
