    Hello everyone,

Always been a fan of the Tacoma, unfortunately they are rare here (non-US). Tomorrow I'm going to look at a gen 2, 2009 with only 34000 miles. The mileage could be legit, it's only city driving here.

What should I be aware of? Except for rust and other standard checks on an used car.

    Thanks!

Take a close look at leaf springs as well. There was an issue with them cracking or sagging too quickly a few years back.

Also what parts usually start to rust first on the 2nd gen?

    Frame
Check where the motor mounts are at and where the front of the leaf springs attach.

    hey guys,

Unfortunately the tacoma was full of rust and other damage. No idea what this guy did to the poor Tacoma.

I've been looking at another Tacoma, 2008 with 86000 miles. Am I crazy to pick this up for cheap (around 8 or 9k) and restore it? (repaint, proper clean etc.)

As long as it is mechanically sound and rust free that's a great deal for a tacoma with under 100k
