I got my plates around 91, for my little S10, coincidentally tan color.

Both Dodge (1997 Dakota) and Toyota (2016 Tacoma) dealers didn't say anything about new plates during the purchases, which I find curious but also fortuitous, since I really like these old stamped steel plates, with the embossed "NEW JERSEY" and GARDEN STATE"

Pretty sure the new NJ plates are printed plastic, with some hologram sticker.

It's a bit of work keeping the old plates, but I like old things in general.

But yes, I very rarely see the old blue plates on the road.

 

Check it out, I a moving to Wyoming soon, their license plate is made for the QS taco!

 

You are correct the new plates are flat aluminum with printing on them. Seeing old plates on the road is rare.

any one have an idea which color tan from lauer duracoat matches quicksand best?

 

Can you email them quicksand paint code, it's on the door of the truck. I bet they could match it.

 

They do have a lot of tan colors to choose from, hard to tell from there website.

 

I like the color being called Iraqi Khaki. LOL

 

Here's my new (to me) Tacoma after I finished doing the hood cowl wrap! I like the look and no more hood glare. Now I need to figure out how to do letters and such...
