Great. Thanks man! One question. I might be missing it but what is the reasoning for cutting off the 5th plug wiring? I just switched the plug over from the original headlight, cut off one of the notches on the plastic so it would go in and lock into place then just plugged the original wiring harness into it.

Looks like in all my frustration I had a huge brain fart, I appreciate you pointing out how easy of a little adjustment that is!

I bought one from protuninglab and my experience with them was good. Headlight assemblies seems solid and identical. I paid $315 shipped and Im happy.

lol shit man. I was right there with you for about 15 minutes. I went up to the dealership to ask if they had the connecting harness for the one OEMassive sent and they said it only comes as a whole wiring harness assembly. Then it just dawned on me so I swapped them out. I was pretty close to cutting.

Hey Ratcityrain, which HID did you install? I got these and would like to switch out the halogen for some HID. My LEDs I have are way too big and wouldn’t fit with the fan.

I have kensun hid's. I have had them in other vehicles for years now and have never had any issues with them. They are not top of the line, but not super cheap either. You can find them on Amazon for about $50 a set

Did you have to modify a lot to get them to fit in the new headlights? I’m really not liking the stock halogens.

I also looked up the headlights you were talking about and can’t seem to find any h11 that fit the truck. When I put h7, they say they aren’t compatible.

Here are the ones I got:
    https://www.amazon.com/Kensun-Xenon...pID=41fq3WV1KJL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

As for modifications - the only modification I had to do was drill a larger hole into the cap so that the hid connectors can pass through. I used the grommet that comes with the hid's to place into the hole I drilled. Outside of that, no modifications necessary

So you went from a non LED DRL strip model, bought these headlights, switched the 5th plug & everything works as advertised?

    Essentially.
The only thing the SRs won't be able to do is have the white DRL LED strip unless you wire that connector in or splice a wire to it.
    Currently I can run:
The LED strip as a solid yellow bar (which I think looks pretty cool) for the DRLs during the daytime like the OEM lights
The regular headlights at night without the LED bar lit up.
The sequential turn signals work perfectly.

I have no problems with the current set up at all. You just have to remember that you can switch out the connectors which as I stated above almost slipped my mind and Leathermatt had a brain fart! If any of that is confusing I can make a short video.

just installed these puppies. it took me a while to figure out how to pull out the lower bumper and rotate it down. ended up breaking some unknown plastic bits by yanking to hard. anyways i totally recommend that if you install these to follow the anzo guide on installation as there are more steps involving the relocation of the fender liners to pull out the fender flares.

I tried tacomabest but not sure if updated but in red it says at bottom:

"Does not work with SR models"

Got a 17 SR5 so just assuming that all the sr and sr5 models won't work. (no drl's)

tacomabeast does have FREE SHIPPING tho :spending: from just trying to order.

Correct, these only work with oem drl's, but there have been members who wired up new housing to work with sr5 models
