I like this idea the best.
Get one of those big heavy deep sea lures with a bunch of hooks and start casting.

Get a bigger launcher and launch a buddy into the tree to retrieve it.

If the tree was close enough to get the launcher stuck. In, it should be close enough for one of y'all to jump in... then once in throw the launcher back into the window and call the fire dept. To get down

Ok I got it. It just came to me. What you need to do is learn how to sky dive. Then go up in the air, at night for stealthness, then jump and land in the tree. Grab the launcher, then rapell yourself down out of the tree. Its what I would do. :D

    Lots.
Rope attached to person on one side. Throw the other end over a big branch and have all your buddies pull you up.

    Dear people of Tacoma World,
My roommates and I would like to thank y'all for your help. We got the damn thing down after five hours of solid work. The key in the end was a sock full of coins tied to 200ft of 550 cord and some of the best tosses ever to 'thread the needle" of these branches. Then a couple hundred could yanks and we got it back.
    Thanks again.
    Peace out from VMI
