I have an 01 Tacoma and recently the latch on the glove compartment door broke and I was able to get it fixed.

I want to reinstall the latch but also I have these two other pieces that came with it when I took it off the glove box. A little metal spring and another plastic piece (as photographed)

I don't want to mess up putting these back together. Does anyone know what these extra parts are for and how I install with with the latch assembly?

Thanks for that info but I think this is a photo of it without the screw and plastic piece. I have examined mine closely and it seem like these pieces fit somewhere just on on the outside of the latch but in the glove compartment. I don't think those extra pieces go inside the latch mechanism because it looks like its complete without them, it already has a spring inside and looks intact.

Hopefully someone in addition might have an idea to confirm this.... it may be something I have to go try to go put back in place now that I have had it fixed.

    Thank you

Yes thats it.. Thank you makes perfect since once I looked up at the top of the assembly. The spring slides right into the top then the plastic piece over that.

    Perfect
