    With the driveshaft issues on these trucks I should probably grease mine . These trucks have had low transmission fluid from the factory and no grease on the U-Joints. I have yet to even check mine. :anonymous:

    Did you use the "at temp" light process when you checked yours and did the fluid change?

    yes you should. I should have checked my tranny fluid every 30K, like the diffs and tcase. I will likely get a flush, and then do drain / fill every 30K from here on out.

    grease that shaft man, it feels sooo good after its lubed up :D

    nope, get the ELM 327 wifi reader, get temps on your iphone. there is a turd gen specific thread for that, likely the same, maybe not. have to enter in specific PID's to get the temps / sensors

    pic for attention 115°-130° is target range to open up the overflow plug.

    :rofl::rofl:

    I'll have to admit....I have completely rebuilt engines....have always done my own maintenance until I bought my first Tacoma. Since then...It's been easier going to the dealer. I need to get back to my old ways

    I gave in (broke down, bent over.....) today and went to the dealer for service. 101,500 miles. Had them R&R tranny fluid, brake fluid, and power steering fluid. Got home and checked tranny fluid level. Was filled too much :eek: I drained the right amount out, good to go for a while now.

    I read "broke down" then never saw the cause of the break down....then I realize you meant you mentally broke down and gave in to go to the dealer...

    All in all was a good experience. My service advisor is from near where i am from in upstate ny. Just bought an 18 trd off road manual. I am teaching him the #SOS way :thumbsup: After he started talking about nfab steps, we had a very serious discussion lol

    it's almost cruel to be helpful, let me explain haha. if he's an Nfab steps guy....that may be all he buys and done modifying, but if he buys a better product like SOS sliders...then he's going to spend out the ass to continue modifying haha.

    sometimes I wish I was one of those people that never considers modifying vehicles..
