Any benefit of going with red over white?

I'd like to see a 2700-3000k option, as it is easier on the eyes, especially at night.

As well, the v1's are bright enough, that's for sure.
About 7 pages back there is a huge discussion about red vs white. The consensus was that red is more bad ass, and some of us believe it causes less eye strain when you look back at the road. Unless you are here to just :stirthepot:

I asked for a 2775.375k option and was shot down. Someone asked for Mauve. I think his Taco is pink so I get the desire. There was even talk of Blue or Green options, but only by the crowd.

I actually think there was a request for 3000k though. I'm sure for enough money you can get whatever color or K you want. That is if the Man is willing to do it.

Not stirring the pot, just genuinely curious if there was a reason people choose red over white.

2700 to 3000k is actually an ideal color temperature for night time, it causes less strain on the eyes.

I think Red is a tactical thing, also helps with sleeping. I hear the red light doesn't attract bugs as much as a white light.

I think I’ll be speaking for the mass of us hunters. We like the red because it doesn’t dilate our eyes when we are trying to get ready for Hunting in the dark so that we can see better going into the woods. The same reason why Tactical teams use it

Yup, all those reasons for me, tactical ops, hunting, less bugs (new one but I like it) :anonymous:.

But mostly, how often does a 55 year old guy get to buy a Orange truck and then put Red Lights in the cab!? Just wait until I add Red ambient ground effect lighting to the chassis and behind the grill! Shit's gettin Sinister up in here!

Got my ultimate dome in today. Wow. Def a bright one. Never realized the dome light has no off switch. It is like daylight in there at night.

You can switch the wiring inside the dome housing like I did to make it a true ON/OFF switch

Camping out of my truck > open door to grab something > not blinded by white light > eyes don't take forever to readjust to the dark. Notice modern hiking headlamps have a red light for camp usage too.

Disadvantage is that you can't differentiate colors as well. Just in case I need a white light because I need to grab something from the truck that is a specific color, I have a flashlight and aftermarket vanity lights that are white.

I’m not tacticool enough for the reds. I’ll just settle with white once they are available again.

You don't have to be tactical, you could just be sexy. Red is sexy!

    Prob next week sometime
I posted a few pages back. Pop the dome housing down, unplug and tape off one of the wires off. The switch on the dome now activates it ON, then slides to OFF. So dumb Toyota didn't give you an option to just turn the dome off(without turning the maps off too)
