Bearings and hubs installed this weekend. Truck rides smooth and quiet. I will say to those pondering the replacement seal, please save yourself the headache and order the seals. When I pulled the old hub/bearings out, the dust seal was all messed up (Spring broke, seal deformed, twisted, on both sides). If you are planning to do this job in one sitting, then be sure you have the seals there or you will be taking a trip to the store. (a 2x4 also helps to set the new seals in place).

I also replaced the lower ball joints and tie rod ends since it was all apart anyways. Instead of removing the lower control arm, I elected to do the lower ball joints the old way (BFH, ball joint fork and ball joint press from Autozone and a bottle jack). I must tell you, that you need a BIG hammer and a minimum 200lb dude (or woman) swinging the hammer to get the old ball joint out (Be sure not to hit the edge of the ball joints). After you get the ball joint out, be sure to clean the ring on the control arm that the ball joint goes in with sand paper before attempting to put the new ball joint in. Mine had a little rust on them. Grease the control arm before putting the new ball joints in.

Note: The ball joint press at Autozone does not work to remove the ball joint. The cups supplied do not align correctly on the control arm, therefore you cannot get any pressure on it to push the old joint out (the press will keep slipping out). Same for installing. When installing the balljoint, the bottom cup fits perfect, however the top spacer does not allow the balljoint to travel all the way up and set properly. I wedged two screw drivers in between the control arm and the spacer supplied with the kit on the edges of the control arm as to not hinder the ball joint to travel. Set them, snap ring, grease fitting and the rest is history.

Thanks Kev for the bearings, hubs and seals. Sounds great and rides smooth. Very happy!

Does warranty start from purchase or from installation date. I’m getting them from you for sure but I’ll order now and put them on the shelf if it’s from install date.

I need to add the seal to my order, how should I go about that? Also, do you sell the screws that are used to remove the rotor (m8)? Mine’s stuck on there pretty good. That would be helpful! And I’ll need a 35mm for the retaining nut too, but I doubt you stock those. Let me know what to do from here.

Quick question before I order. I started to getting a lot of front end noise, roar if you will, over the last few months. The tires have about 15k miles on them (rotated ever 5k miles) and show no signs of cupping etc. I jacked the truck up last night and tested with the 12 and 6 o'clock method no play at all, but I do get a good amount of noise when spinning. Sounds like sand in a bearing or something along those lines. With a good bearing would it be silent? Sounds like this

    105,000 on the clock

I'd say bad bearing. Just replaced my driver's front. Quiet now. If you want to eliminate brake noise take the caliper off and tie it out of the way. Then spin the tires. Should be no noise other than rotation.
