Dolly it with the driveshaft off. Same way I got my Civic home. Can't find my Civic pic so here's our Benz. According to the Toyota 1996 Brochure the 5-lug v6 Ext. Cab has a curb weight of around 2,700 pounds.

Y’all understand that he lives in San Francisco, right?? That’s possibly one of the worst places to own a manual.

And keep in mind that I love my manual.

One my reasonings why I kept the Auto. Driving in San Francisco with an Auto already isn't fun, couldn't imagine driving a Manual in that city and going up a hill.

It really isn't that hard, haha with a manual you'd actually make it to the top of those hills before the next ice age hits which is nice.

Ha! You know some hills in San Fran are so steep the sidewalks are stairs. I drove the E320 up one once and I had to hit the gas and the brake at the same time to stop it from rolling downhill.

Can I leave the truck in neutral and tow it with the rear wheels on the ground without removing the rear driveshaft, or do I have to remove the d/s no matter what?

Or can I just put the truck with the rear wheels on the dolly, and the front wheels touching the ground?

Front on the dolly, ds disconnected. Otherwise the countershaft is unlubed and you should never put the light side of the vehicle on the dolly.

Gotcha. I assume the 5-lug one piece D/S is just as easy to remove as the 6-lug two piece D/S.

Super easy actually, just four bolts and boom it pulls right out of the transmission, but if i were you I'd just unbolt the DS and use a bungie or some zipties to hold the driveshaft up and out of the way so you avoid fluid pouring out the rear of the transmission (which will happen with the driveshaft removed).

I'm not sure if it's my tires or not, but i get a bit of a shake at 65+mph.

One of my tires is a blem, not sure how it happened but the whole bottom side of my wheel is stick on weights

Oh, it's not a flange like it is on the Autos?

So I unbolt the flange that connects the rear diff. and the driveshaft and affix it to the frame - and leave the front flange into the transmission alone?

That's what I'd do, that or get a cap to keep the fluid from coming out of the rear of the trans

I'm excited. The poor clutch in that truck is going to suffer because I have no clue how to drive a manual.

Today I changed the fuel filter, cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body. That thing was dirty! Make sure you clean it folks. Also got a PVC nozzle and put that sucker in and it snapped in half. It was really scary for a second trying to get it out. But managed to do it and put the old one back on, back to Oreilly for a replacement.
