Ok I just watched again, the first time there was a stupid advertisement on the bottom so I couldn't see your subtitles. But that's still a lot of work for someone like me who is not comfortable with computers. I am still willing to pay someone lol .

 

You’ll get it worked out and I agree it’s a little complicated but just know Toyota attempted to make these ECUs locked down and unable to flash, Mat found a way luckily but it requires all these other steps to make it happen vs handheld solutions that can work on older Toyota ECUs. Good luck!

 

I believe @OVTune is down in SoCal. Perhaps you can make arrangements to meet him and have him show you.

 

I cannot offer any advice, but know that you are not alone. Many of us have found it very difficult, and no existing set of instructions tells you everything you need to know in order to pull it off. I hope that someone local to you steps up to give you a hand.

OVTune is making a program that will simplify a lot of this after he releases 1.03. I’m just going to wait for that.

Your blog was very informative. I did not find the answer to the questions below. When you have time...

1.Do all ECU benefits remain even when the tranny begins to re-learn?
2. Are there specific details for the “All gears...” shift mapping? I’m running a SSP to and am happy with the gear selection logic.
3. Finally, I have the OR, what’s the difference between the crawl tune and regular AT?

 

If you open the device manager, are you seeing any devices with an yellow “!”?
If so, restart pressing F8, then select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. That’s fixed that issue for me.

 

Don't forget to turn off your anti-virus protection while doing this, it jams up the works sometimes. I'm old school, but thought it went pretty easy, other than the fact I didn't follow the directions completely & forgot to send Mat my dongle number, that's an important bit of info. LOL He replied back & reminded me. @TacoSauceHB, it's worth the bit of frustration, just did mine and am so glad I did. @dYL0n video & the instructions on Ovtunes site got me thru it.

 

I don't even have a laptop to use. And I am that guy who starts clicking and pushing buttons when I get frustrated or something is not working, I literally do not trust myself to attempt this. I wasn't even able to download the drivers? or whatever they are called to my pc. I got error messages and got frustrated right away. Matt from OVtune was originally emailing me about helping me out on V-day and I was super excited about this , but then he went dark on me and stopped responding so I am back to square one. I plan on selling this by end of March if I cannot find someone to help me with it. Pretty annoyed right now.... have had this for months and cant install it. I hate how my truck drives but don't want to waste my money on the sprint booster or SSP.

I wish I had more to tell you,but that's all I that I know & did. Can't believe there's not somebody out that way who's reached out to you. Mat is good to his word, he gets stretched thin sometimes.

 

Yeah I'm not trying to blast him because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But it did kind of feel like I was bothering him and being an inconvenience since he was so busy. I'm pretty surprised too nobody has offered. I guess Ill just have to sell it and spend the money on re-gearing instead. Anything physical and mechanical I can do, but computers are a different language to me.

So there is a tune for 93 octane correct? I rub 93 in my truck

 

As of now there is an 87 tune and a 91 tune, but running 93 on the 91 tune is money. I’ve never run anything but 93 since I’ve been tuned

 

Careful, that is illegal in some states!

Yes. Saw that in the flash manager and would be nice to get the full benefit of the golden fuel we put in the tank but I’m also really happy with the power output of the 91 tune so we shall see if 93 comes to pass!!
