Just got a camera for the front also but haven’t installed it yet. Did you have to buy anything additional to install it?

I used this. Its plug n play. you can view either camera while driving and program it to have the front camera turn on at 9 mph and below. I love that feature for parking. No more bumping poles at sheetz or ending up four feet from it.

I went in a bit of a dive in your old posts about the front camera (I'm putting one in soon as well, have the same camera but the kit from anytimebackup), and I see you asked about powering the camera. How'd you end up powering it? Did you put it on a circut that's only on when the truck is on, or a power switch?

The wires run through the bolt that holds the driver side mount down...then along the inside headliner edge and down the a Pilar...the perfect size as far as I’m concerned is this full kit sold by zroadz with a 40inch curved bar...it’s pricey but nobody else out there makes a kit like this!

Thanks! I would assume this requires you to drop the headliner then right and that is a hollow bolt? Yea, just checked it out. That's sexy as hell. Definitely not cheap. Lifetime warr though.

Yeah...you just have to drop the headliner a little bit on each side of the truck to drill and fasten the mounts and run the wire...it’s intimidating and takes some time but it’s not that bad as long as you follow the instructions and are not afraid to drill through your roof...we did it in my buddies garage and it came out great!!! Also I got the kit $500 and change at auto anything during a sale which they seem to always have sales so keep your eyes open.

Thanks for explaining it. I may need to look into one of these setups! I feel like it would work really well around here to get the dust off the surface that inevitably accumulates after some time sitting outside. I keep my truck in my garage any time I can, but while at work it just collects dust lol especially if the wind starts to blow a bit. Stupid desert

I also need to get an Inferno touch up paint kit. Probably the paint pen one. I try to keep the interior of this truck flawless, and I accidentally scraped my work boot against the inside driver door panel the other day while getting out. Not a big deal, so I went out into the garage to wipe it off, holding the door halfway open. Like a dumbass, I didn't bother to support the door from opening all the way from the pressure I was putting on it while wiping, and it opened up and hit my metal shelf in my garage. There is a little orange streak on the shelf now. Luckily the marks on the door aren't very noticeable unless you know where to look. There are 2 little nicks/chips (like the size of pin heads maybe) on the very edge of the door. Can't really see it unless the door is open. But knowing that they're there, I need to fix them.

Normally I'm so careful, but I got careless there. It was in the morning after working all night though so I was tired and looking forward to going to bed I guess.

Yes, I am sorta OCD about this truck still. Just went over 2,000 miles last week

I got a pen, it also comes with a brush from the dealer. I had something hit the front bumper. It worked great and of course because it was factory it matched perfect. Not even noticable now.

Local dealer, where I bought the truck. It was $15. It was listed on the computer as a part, so every dealer should be able to get it. I remember when they used to give you one when you bought your vehicle.

Ooo nice. I was looking online but maybe I'll have to go to the dealer. Any tips on applying it so it's not noticeable at all?

Yeah, make sure the temperature is 70 to 85 degrees out, the pen too. Then just take your time. Thin coats, I applied four, letting dry between coats. I used the brush, you may need the pen part, but both are easy to use. Remember if it's in a prominent place you may still be able to see it, but it's still better than a chip or scratch. Don't over do it I guess is what I'm trying to say.
