I got into this late December unfortunately waiting a long time for account verifications so I've already reached the point where I'm at or under my original buy in depending on what coin or token. I'm okay with that, although it would have worked out better to have taken money out a couple weeks ago and then buy back in when the market looks like it is recovering. That said I wasn't expecting the market to drop this hard!

JHC, is it just me or do the trolls that drop by here (sorry im just to lazy to go back and quote) seriously have no fn clue about what is happening here? Currency blah blah blah, ZERO concept that blockchain is the game changer???!? Do you know what that is??? Of course there will be ups and downs with new tech. But seriously, SERIOUSLY? If the apocalypse happens who cares if your credit card is backed by a bank. Guns and farm skillz, that's what will matter.
..sorry...someone got into the Pendleton tonight

I'm not trying to shit on crypto at all. I don't believe the paper we use to buy goods is any more valuable than a digital set of 1s and 0s is. Hell, 30 years ago your money was backed by gold at least. Now.. it's backed by nothing (full faith of the US govt? LOL okay.. sure). But crypto.. I just don't know if it's going to get adopted by the masses. I want to believe in it. I just think a lot of it right now is pure speculation and not a lot of practical use. That could change of course, and it looks like it is. It's just a wild ride right now with lots of gut feeling riding on it.

As for the banning on pot and guns.. well the value usually goes up in those cases. Banning in is certainly a dumb idea, because the gov is just missing out on money..

Im still mining away. Profits are certainly down. I might start pointing rigs at various coins instead of "profit mining" to hold onto till things pick up.

but I have heard from a few guys in a group who have shut down for the time being. Whats funny is all the people who bought 1070ti's and 1080tis at inflated prices and are now bitching over 10-14 month ROI's. Never buy at the peak especially at inflated prices. Then there are the people who are complaining about very little profits. People seem to have forgot a short 12-18 months ago when mining Eth barely covered electricity costs...never mind hardware ROI.

It's funny. For months I have been watching price gougers buy antminers and flip them for triple the price and Bitmain had some crazy methods of selling them to prevent hoarding. Now, they are available on the site for a reasonable price through a simple wire transfer. Still not super easy, but it has me itchin'.

Yeah I just got into mining a few weeks back for the HODL. (Already had some machines and GPU's laying around) If I was trying to make immediate ROI I'd be sweating it. I'm just trying to pad my portfolio with more crypto.

Let me just whip out my crystal ball lol. No one really knows, but if I had to guess we are at or near the bottom. However I also suspect we will continue to see prices around these levels for a couple weeks before starting to rise again.

AISCs are always weird to me. Right now its cheap cause the profit isn't there to be charging more. People buy them third party just cause it can be annoying to get one. Like the A3 they released they were only letting orders go in like 1k batches. The S9 are for preorders for a march batch.

I tried to transfer the LTC I bought a couple days ago from coinbase to binance and it says it's going to take 72hours for security safety bullshit. I've nevr had that before. Anybody else get that?

Wow. That would piss me off royally. If you're trying to capitalize on the dip and prices start to shoot up over the next 48 hours you'll completely miss your window on alt-gains.
