Ugh, yep. I had in my head 1.6, when it's actually 1", my quick calcs were off and it is only 1/2 the height. Regardless it's interesting to see how much variance there are in these trucks. I'm trying to convince myself that somehow I won't need a rear lift.

I would definitly plan on the rear lift. My nose feels sky high right now. Its very noticeable even without a tape measure. I'm going 1.5 in the rear to bring back some rake.

No need to psycho analyze measurements between trucks. As long as the tire/wheel combo remains constant before and after lift install, the new suspension is the only variable that is impacting the net gain/lose in ride height. So with that, it shouldn't matter if you're comparing an OR to a Sport or 265/70/16 tires to 265/75/16 or even on up to 285/75/16. The net gain will still be constant.

Yeah, just a fun case of been there, done that, don't want to do again. Ultimately, I will, I just don't want to because it took way more time than I wanted it to.

I would consider the new lighter duty Dakar EL095R.... look into it. You can even remove the bigger top AAL from that pack for less initial height. Lift on 3rd gens is less that on second gens which may work in your favor.

2-3 years after installing my AAL and it's sagged out. I plan on installing these with the larger AAL removed ... hoping it gives me my rake back and sets my rear 1.5" higher than my front with my Baja Suspension

Is that a single AAL or 3 leaf progressive?

Whole new pack... mines OTW. I'll write up my results when I get it in.

My Icon AAL initially gave me 1" rake over the front. Hub to Fender measured around 22" Front and 23" rear. Now I'm 22" all around +- 1/4". Any load in the bed or pulling trailer and I squat.

If you do plan on running the AAL I'd recommend leaving the overloads in... it'll settle out over time, trust me

This thread is like watching the stock market. People are waiting to buy once they hear positive results. But now before it's too late!

I was referring to the AAL you mentioned adding previously.

Was that a single AAL or the 3 leaf progressive AAL?

Has anyone tried measuring the ground clearance on the front (from level ground to center of stock skid plate) after installing these?

Dizzying.... I got a lot to learn before I start to second guess the engineers who designed this truck.

But, what I would like out of all this without breaking the bank or making this thing ride like my old 250:

Little lift.... ? Sure ! Looks cool !
Little more support while towing or when the bed is loaded..... ? Definitely !

You don't want caste rin the green with lift and larger tires. My caster is 2.9 right side 2.5 left side. Camber is as close to zero as they can get it. I have dirt king UCA's. 2" lift and 265/75/16 tires.

This suspension won't ride like an F250, I promise you that. It rides better than stock. Smooth's out bumps that on a stock OR/Sport/SR5 suspension would be harsh. $600 is a killer deal.

Support for towing or when bed is loaded depends on your leafs. Save money up front by just going with a 3 leaf AAL. Still rides well, but over time you'll still sag. Or future proof yourself and spend $200-300 more up front by getting a new pack.

This was my thinking. That's why my dakars are sitting on my garage floor.

Thanks for your help with this.
Where do I start with 3 leaf AAL ? They will level my ride or give me a more raked to the front stance ?
Can't say I understand your last sentence....

    I don't want to go crazy with tires either. I'm not an Off-roader, but rather a a Down-the-Roader ! :) Happy to stay with 17" stock. (?)

My everyday has a fiberglass cap and maybe #150 pounds of tools and gear + me. City pavement mostly, twisty bumpy NH country roads or the coast. Sometimes off onto woods roads for a short distance and construction sites. Then seasonal highway towing.

    What's a fellah to do ?

I'm so much back and forth on the rear. I've run Dakars before. Loved the support but felt the on-road performance was a bit harsh for my tastes, when unloaded (I'm currently sans topper and only ~100lbs in the bed).

Where did you find the best pricing for the light weight Dakars, Headstrong?

Yes. I called around and many dealerships quoted me $1500 before I got one that had $684.

If these had been $684 all along they would have been a VERY popular mod the last few years.
