Just a personal preference. I find the bigger front ends look more aggressive. The low profile round looks like a minivan or car not very truck like

You usually get better milage with stock tires. That's usually reason #2 why Toyota chose them as stock tires. (Reason #1 is they were the least costly for Toyota.)

Stock tire weight is about 32-35lbs, LTX in 245 size on 17" is 31lbs.

Not only visual preference, global Toyota trucks, vans & suv are better than anything we get here, expect for 4Runner.
Consumer here cares more about leather heated seats, huge front grille and number of cupholders in the truck, rather than actual capabilities.
First gen tacoma would like to have a chat with you.
    2002_toyota_tacoma_crew-cab-pickup_prerunner-v6_fq_oem_1_500.jpg

& Hilux from the same time to compare.
    01w.jpg

P.S. My point is Looks > Capabilities for this market, and actual performance hurts because they spend too much time on those grilles and cupholders.

That's okay. I like what we got.

Im still considering a 1.25” body lift for the zr2. I just cant accept a bodylift.

It makes sense though. Doesn’t mess eith anything, more tire clearance mostly.

Doesn’t help or hurt in the offroad sense other than getting the tires out of my fender.

May look a little better, the 33s are somewhat stuffed in there. A little more fender gap wouldn’t hurt. Plus its only $130

Thanks for the heads-up...got mine shipped from Cochrane Toyota.

How do you like the destinations? I haven't decided on tires yet.

I thought I'd hate them, but for a highway summer tire they're not bad. Quiet and good mileage. However, I wont be getting another set. Mind is pretty made up on the Michelin LTX

One of the two is fake as you know. I hope the snorkel is functional. :p

To be fair, the hood scoop is typically present with the snorkel in foreign markets too, because the hood scoop is ducted to the intercooler, not the air intake:
