It does amaze me that most people don't realize the danger that hybrid and electric car systems pose. I know first responders get training (as I assume mechanics do ??). I guess we need the movie industry to overplay battery explosions like they do gas tanks to really put the fear in the proper place. ;)

My cousin worked on vending machines in the 60s. He asked a customer if the outlet was 110 or 220, the guy licked his fingers and stuck them in the outlet, he jumped back and said "220"

Just a reply ban for him for here, too many times posting political arguments and trying to drag everyone into a debate with him. He knows better.
We don't usually post about reply bans, just ban bans.

Friend of mine called me yesterday from the parking lot of a taxidermist in Duluth. He went down to get a 44" Northern he speared mounted, $21 an inch. Lives on the North Shore in Silver Bay, Mn. He tried to send me a picture from his new smart phone but said the damn phone was smarter than he was. But he posted it on a website. Bastage is retired and said the cold and snow isn't so bad when you don't have to go out in it. But want to play in it, then it isn't so bad.

Said Charlie (his dog) took off running out of the ice house with his tail between his legs when he pulled the Northern out of the hole.

Remember to make sure you ground the (+) wire to ground to test the system LOL !!

Be careful Mike , high amp 12v is nothing to joke about !!. I remember when I was working as a diesel mechanic and replacing batteries in the battery box . I accidentally grounded my wrench and it made a nice arcing sound with a flash

That was only 3400 amps between the 3 batteries but it melted my snap on wrench

Yeah especially if your standing on metal deck plates. Soaking wet with sweat. On a ship. In saltwater :) IIRC at sea under the right conditions it can kill you as low as .1 of an amp at least that is what they pounded into us back then. Static shock from walking across the carpet is often something like 20K volts. But milliamps if that, and not sustained. Still stings. I just try to avoid all electrical current with my body in the path if possible now LOL.
