We are using salt brine same as utah now too. It's only in certain counties, but will continue to spread.

The NAV is bad by today's standards but some china companies are making Android replacement screens that have CAN bus and will operate the HVAC. I'd be willing to give it a try.

I'm sure between digikey and adafruit you could find a CAN bus breakout board/ dev kit and likewise for a voltage regulator and solder and heatshrink away =D

Are those the sport model with the KDSS? The sports are freaking rare.

    :notsure:

I don't even know how to tell the difference without seeing the underside of the trucks if it has KDSS. I would prefer to not have it.

I thought it was fairly easy to pull out the KDSS? Not that I am looking at them.

I just picked one of these up on Amazon:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IDV2GQY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

couldn't beat the price and the handle is steel as well.

I have heard it's great to have. @thefatkid what are your thoughts? Otherwise there are plenty of cheaper 05-07's out there. I am still looking for a good condition 96-2000 manual 4runner in the $5k range, but can't find any and when I do they are already sold. If I could get a gx470 in the $10k range I might have to pull the trigger.

Maybe he thought you meant on the body? :notsure: Otherwise, yeah, I'm from there, and that ain't rusty. Hell, my CO only Tacoma of roughly the same age looks worse than that, and even when it did look like that it was always described (by dealership etc) as 'just surface rust'. Which you know, apparently isn't really rust. :der: I still don't think I can fail an inspection, though that reminds me I need to get it in again and try, but yeah... if the truck goes in the garage really wet now, it bleeds rust onto the floor along a particular section of the frame.

My 5th gen Trail has it, I like it and have had zero issues with it.

I just started looking at 3rd gens too and damn the price has rose a ton since I had my 2000 5 years ago.

Home Depot has lifetime warranty on hdx shovels, axes, etc. they are cheapest and easiest to warranty if they break. no need to spend all the dollars on a krazy beaver or hilift accessory pack

I was gifted one of those SOG foldable shovels for the TWSS this past year.

Haven't used it yet but it seems stout.

    This is what I use.
