:D:DSo today I had my truck towed into the dealership to have some things fixed (finally) and they put me in a rental with enterprise when I got there they asked what vehicle I drive and well long story short they put me in a 2018 Colorado and let me just tell you I wasn’t in the car for more than about 5 minutes and I realized no matter how many problems I have with my taco i would not ever think about switching to A Chevy. I literally felt like I was in a low class cheap pick up truck it felt cheap and just looked cheap everywhere I looked and it’s not a base model either it’s probably the mid level model with 4 wheel drive and a V6. Just wanted to share my experience with TW :D

Do you think if it had been a ZR2 you might think different?

Doubt it! This and the ZR2 are pretty similar when it comes to the interior

I loved the motor in the canyon I tested, but the rest of the truck reminded me of a 98 Pontiac interior. Just typical gm interior for the last 20-30 years.

It's tough to look past build quality within the interior of a vehicle. To some it's nothing more than a subtle let-down, and to others the "feel" of the car itself could be a deal-breaker.

I don't believe the quality of workmanship in the interior is any different between the base model and ZR2, the same way it is no different between an SR and a TRD PRO.
Buttons and levers change, the way they are fabricated and put together within the car generally does not...

Diesel with a 0-60 10 second time. Doubt it.
    Motortrend calls it barely acceptable.

10 seconds? I was expecting a lot faster than that! Never really looked at their engine specs.

Gas is 7.1 and diesel is 9.7 actually, .3 is a lot of distance in a quarter mile.

Motortrend also has the truck as a finalist for 2018 truck of the year... which means nothing I’m just saying.

I think non ZR2 Colorado's with the V6 have the 0-60 down in the mid 6 second range.

    @Ttaco15 has the new Chevy.
it was impressive off road but god that interior was fucking repulsive.

After looking at them I will definitely stick to my Taco.
And there was a thread on here about someone who bought a taco traded for chevy then traded back for taco cause his zr2 had so many issues.

Tacoma is still the best mid size until the Ranger shows what it’s really got.

There is a bunch of dumb-ass hating from dumb-ass tribal-minded haters here. There ZR2/Colorado is a great vehicle. I see so many of them here in the Bay Area now. Nearly as many as the Tacomas that I see.

I sat in both a Canyon and Colorado at the Silicon Valley autoshow, and the Colorado has a vastly superior interior.... Plus Front locker, Plus read disc brakes, plus higher HP, Plus Diesel, plus aftermarket super charger.....

Toyota is leading sales because of the Compact Toyota truck legacy. Further, many Second/1st gen owners had 200k+ problem free mile, and expect the same outcome from the newer generation.

How many non-Toyota loyalist is Toyota selling Tacomas to?

In my opinion, the 3rd gen looks better than the GM twins, but that is all subjective.

    Break-outta of the Fanboy mindset.
