Neg offset pushes the tire out away from the vehicle decreases backspacing, pos offset increases backspacing and brings the wheels in towards the vehicle. Think you got that backwards.

So I read the whole thread and nobody on 245/75/16’s??? Keeping the stock height for now I think that might be a good alternative to keep from rubbing.
There are several mud tires that size available.
    Thoughts?

You shouldn't have an issue with those.

    5 lug, correct?
    I think 6 lug is 265/70/16.

Mine is a box stock SR5 and it came with 245/75R16 and it's a 6 lug. The alt tire was a 265/70R16

5 lugs came with smaller less tall like a 245/65 I believe

Yup. I hated fat tires since my '87 Trans Am GTA hit the rain puddles. The tires turned into surf boards.

There was also the time we took my friend's Toyota Tercel out because the snow was throwing my '74 Bronco (33's) around like a rag doll.

Yea stock wheels/ stock height and for the time being don’t want to lift or deal with rubbing. Just better traction off road and in mud at the hunting lease.

I have 4.0” backspacing with TC UCAs on 255/85/16 and this is how my stance looks. I don’t rub on the UCAs. This is also lifted 2”.

    Thanks.
I really thought I was going to have to sell my Ray10s to put skinnys on.

    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4

Good list, but also put for cons:

Higher tread to surface contact pressure may lead to increased tire wear and posible tire damage from sharp rocks.

I've run 235/85/16 and now run 255/85/16. I don't think id ever go back with a wider tire

Which brand/model tires are you guys running?
When I look for 255 85 16 I notice less selection and OR higher price for same tire at 255 80 17.
Basically the two trends I see are less of a selection and higher prices at 16's. Am I off ?
    Thanks.
