Well working out on my lunch break finally stopped paying off. Came back to the locker room and noticed the lock was gone from my locker. Huge sigh of relief when I opened the locker and everything looked ok. Well not so much some ahole stole my pants with wallet, truck keys and smart watch. Luckily my new $1K smart phone was in my jacket pocket which he didn't take.

I have the keyless start but he also got the tailgate key. Not to mention my DL hopefully my truck is still there when I get home. Rode in with a buddy today.

Anybody had experience replacing this with aftermarket or at dealership?

Dealership just quoted me $185 for FOB, $109 for key that inserts into FOB (not sure there is one?) and $135 programming charge.

The Fob has the transmitter and the little laser cut key inside the fob for the door and glove box, and there's the tail gate key.

That sucks, no security in that place?

I recently picked up a new/virgin oem replacement fob on ebay. It came with an uncut key. Paid $120. Dealer programed the fob to the truck for $90, local locksmith laser cut the key for $20. They will need the truck & your other fob to program it. I would see if they can give you another combo, as your old key is floating around. If they will steal your wallet, they will steal your truck.

Tailgate key gets a little more complicated, new lock cylinder, since he also has that key.

Nope they got that one too. Last week I thought about taking it off my keychain and putting it in the glove box. Wish I had done that :(

Well no security cameras in the locker room....

Thats a good idea, I will see if my dealer will program one I don't buy from them.

Changed out all the house locks tonight so my wife doesn't freak out. They also got my key for my 53 Ford and I can't find the spare so new ignition switch on order for it. On top of it they were my favorite pants they stole!

Your key ring must have been huge! I have separate key rings for each vehicle, with other appropriate keys added. I don't need my trailer key on my car key ring, only on the truck ring, etc.

Sorry to hear about your pants.

It's a fob, not a FOB. It's not an abbreviation for anything. It's just a thing, like a key or a truck.
