I guess that when doing a restoration project, you shouldn't count or else you will become discouraged and give up?

How much $$ in my truck? First, I got it for cheap (crappy brakes, as the LSPV had quit working. Then surface rust covered frame - owner must have thought his frame was bad, when it isn't at all. It is 100% rock solid everywhere. Truck was unnecessarily destined for junkyard and I saved it). Body 100% good too.

I've done lots of tune-ups, mods and things to it that would be costing in the thousand of dollars, for sure.
But it didn't cost me at all, as I did all the fab and work myself. All it did cost me is time.
If I would have paid for having it done, it would have been extremely expensive
it's not a tacoma anymore, it's an indestructaco!!

The final amount will depend on how much for a new paint job (paint needs a refresh....). So I'm currently shopping around...

And yet, as much as I love this truck (and I do love it. More than I ought to haha) I would leave it stock if I did it over.

are you happy to drive around with your truck? If yes, that's the most important
If you are afraid to drive it for fear of damaging it or putting some wear on it or the components, after all you invested into it, that is not good. Where is the fun, joy or pride of owning it now?

Anyway, don't have regrets. You can't change the past. Don't look back on it, look forward instead!

Your truck will last 500,000 miles plus but there are things that have to be done to it. Or You Can buy a new truck will cost you 30-40 grand and will loose 5 grand in value in the first year and keep going down in value along with taxes of 1000 a year plus insurance of 150 a month depending where u live. Do you want all of that and truck payment of 500-600 amonth??? Or a truck that's probably paid for.?
You have to be happy with your truck and drive it!!
It's obvious I love to drive my truck and see the world,
Get a good set of seats for the ride:) and get out there and explore.
Don't worry about how many miles u drive because these trucks will get you there and back

Looks great, if something breaks you fix it if you hear a strange noise you address it,
Lower ball joints I replace every 100,000 because if one goes out you can loose everything
I would replace lower ball joints every 100k regardless!!!

$500 a month in car payments equals $6000 a year in mods if you have the thing paid off!:dancingbacon:

Just checked LBJ's last week, they are very tight. I guess my only worries are the auto tranny - front/rear diffs - transfer case. I have no idea how long those last with being very well kept. Worries because of the possible expense, even though I get parts cheaper than most
