They can be tough on the driveline also on the front especially at slow speeds can get some chirping from the tires not free spooling making a really hard turn like into a parking space. Fuel mileage may or may not suffer this is not easy to test. I had a buddy say his suffered when he put one in his bronco I am not 100% on that. Going around corners at slow speed feels like the car is pushing or understeer in higher speeds it can feel like it's oversteering the back end coming around faster than front. It's hard to describe the driving feeling as it is really strange compared to anything else. Not a bad choice for the rear but I would never run one on the front unless it's a dedicated trail rig. We ran them on our circle track car, NASCAR runs them on their cars and they do some twisty racing.

Would you really have to regear for an ARB?

You can use your gears you have now you'll just have to swap them over to the ARB unit and then set them up. Or is it a while your doing that why not just regear now instead of later rabbit hole you're thinking.

Yeah exactly. I priced it out and it’s barely cheaper to get the arb installed from ECGS with my own gears, so it makes more sense to just do it all at once.

    You need one!:spending:
I hope too. I don't know much about lockers, but except on ice, i don't see why we would avoid a lunchbox locker for a trail dedicated rig. Cheap and I guess, reliable. Less stuff is likely to fail like switches and air hose/compressor

Here again, for a trail rig, noise shouldn't be a concern imo. They guys that don't know should not push another one toward an expensive choice with the noise as an argument lol

i guess people want air on board and front and rear lockers? So they go with arb

When they grenade they grenade hard. And they are kind of a wear item just like a limited slip. The front it may be nice when crawling to have a selectable locker but not in the rear.

I wish OX Lockers made a locker for the tacomas because that’s what I’d have in a heartbeat. Just run a cable to the cab and be done!

That would be cool! There is a kit to turn the factory e Locke into cable actuated. It’s expensive though, $400

Wouldn’t be bad if you could get an axle super cheap! Or if toyota didn’t drop the ball and would allow you to just bolt in a locking diff in other truck packages.
