I have to renew my CDL at the end of the year.
Only can be renewed in a "major" DMV office,aka, Bilgeport.
That's always a treat.

 

@jpereira2 and @Pugga I heard about the Equalizer WD hitch with sway control built in. You guys ever hear about them

never heard of them but mine does it too. also keep in mind some WD systems do not allow you to back up the trailer, you would have to disconnect it

edit: just googled it, looks like it works the same way as mine

 

You don't have to unhook yours to back up either?

 

The Husky is cheaper!

 

That was one of the ones I mentioned. No personal experience but they seem to be well liked. Any W/D hitch worth buying will have sway control built in, don't buy one without it.

Husky is cheaper but I believe they have 2 models, one is much lighter and the reviews tend to be a little less favorable, if I recall correctly. I would make sure you get the heavier W/D hitch (not heavier bars, get the bars that go with the weight of the trailer, I'm talking about the heavier unit in general).
Edit: I think it's the Centerline that seems to be well liked.

 

Got the email from daycare saying they are closing at 3:30 since I guess it's supposed to switch to freezing rain later in the afternoon.

Yup, it was the centerline one that I was looking up. It's about $175 cheaper than the Equalier

 

I live in Clarksburg, so I'll have to keep that in mind. Pittsfield is always busy!

 

I went to register a vehicle once. For reasons I can't comprehend, they won't let you pay a registration fee with a card, but if you walk 20 ft down the counter, they'll gladly let pay you any license fees with a card.

I didn't even think this was something I should have to check, given I had renewed my license with a card a few months before. Fortunately, a person before me got told off for it before I got to the counter so I saved a little time by knowing I should just leave then. I never carry a checkbook or cash, I just put everything on a card and pay it off each month. I doubt I'm alone in that.

 

Centerline is the one to get! I had called the dealer while waiting for delivery of our trailer and asked what they recommended and would sell me. They wouldn't price match unfortunately so I ordered mine from Etrailer.com i believe. It works great, quick and easy to use when hooking up. Works in reverse, makes groaning sounds like any setup will but it definitely does what it is supposed to.

 

I think MA is doing the same, but it's technically optional. It becomes an issue for air travel, I guess. But, I never fly anywhere so I'll probably just opt to keep my normal license as long as they'll let me if it saves me trips to the RMV.

 

North end of Cheshire near the TA on 84 changed over to mostly freezing rain with some sleet mixed in for good measure

Agreed. I'm to blame as well for sending him in. Figured they'd be OK since it was going to be just rain according to what I had heard in the afternoon, and I would just pick him up at the end of the day as usual. Now I have to worry about the wife going out with the youngest, to get the oldest from daycare, and make it there and back home safely. FML.

 

I have the cheaper harbor freight WD hitch and have no issues with it. Requires a separate sway control arm, but for the little bit I saved, I am happy with it.

 

Nuno, Nuno, Nuno... If you had just listened to me, the kid would have been home driving the wife crazy and you would have had a nice full belly of bacon... I'm here looking out for you!
