No more TRD Pro?

I think it's the price tag that goes a long with diesel option. Most manufacturers lately seem to only let you have a diesel if you also pay for the most expensive version of said vehicle.

Total diesel market for car and light truck diesels was 3% last year. They add diesels to light trucks at the tip top end of the line plus a premium that you cannot recover in efficiency for about eight years due to fuel costs here. In addition, read all about the Canyon diesel. 0-60 times measured by a sundial.
C'mon man, yes, it will have low end torque. No, it will not be fast or even pleasantly quick.
I can see it now... a $70K diesel TRD Pro Limited Platinum snorkel edition. I'll just buy a Landcruiser.

 

Yeah, the guy was a total tool. He kept saying "Echo Beast" instead of echo boost. All it takes is two minutes of research to find out the many issues those engines have, so many problems and on top of it, they don't maintain their efficiency.
I do like the F-series trucks with the big V8. I might go that route depending what Toyota has next time I'm ready to buy

Only the Tundra gets 2.5 on all four corners apparently....from that article...

"All TRD Pro models feature piggyback shock reservoirs in the rear -- 2.5 inches on the Tundra, 2 inches on the Tacoma and 4Runne."

This was not a "nothing anouncement" but it was pretty close...certainly not a "wait till you see what we reveal in 2 weeks" sort of announcement.

Why does EVERYTHING have to be over-hyped these days...

Let me clarify... The pics and news posted up on social media etc. by Toyota was effective and did get everyone talking. But now it seems it was all for small changes.

 

Meh.. Same stuff basically.
I'd still rather have a TRD OR and make it my own.

 

The other 2017 and 2018 pro tacoma already have the 2.5" fox shocks... im thinking the CNET writers didn't know which was which, especially with the other people quoting 2.5 for all pro models. Question is will valving be different on the 19? Considering the big reveal on the pro are both add-ons, I'm guessing that's a newwppp.
