Hey guys I saw this Magnetic armor for made for jeeps. I wanted to see what the interest level would be on having a set of these made for the 3rd gen Tacoma. I'm probably going to make a set for myself. I'm all for natural pin striping and all but my MGM taco looks like I a hoard of cats attacked cuz of all the thick sage brush I've gone through. Buffing it out is gonna take a while.
    Would anyone else be interested?

Interesting... I have MGM too and agree that it would be nice to not worry so much about pinstriping the truck.

You take it off and put it away when you're done?

I’d imagine that it could be stored at home until placed on vehicle for wheelin out in the country.

Just throw it on when you're going trail running. Remove it and stow it away when you're done.

It may be hard with the Tacoma's curves. The jeep is flat. Its a cool idea though. I already pinstriped mine.:annoyed:

I would be very interested in this. An impasse in the trail I was on last weekend forced me up into a four-wheeler/ side by side trail. Sounded like nails on a chalkboard :( No major scratches luckily. Next time, I might not be so lucky.

Ya that's what I'm going to be trying to figure out. I'm going to try it and see how it goes. I'll post pics when I do.

Could potentially come in different colors maybe even custom printed designs if it works well.

Wish I had something like this back in 2012 when I bought my truck.

My Taco looked like it was attacked by wildcats and had to spend 2 days polishing.

    Its a great idea.

Just be sure to have your truck clean before putting them on because from personal experience with magnetic work logo signs, I know that they scratch the paint and easily blow off if dirt gets underneath them. They also get messed up and curly edged in too much sun, and be sure not to lift them off constantly from the leading edge to help prevent blow-offs caused by leading edge curl. Also, I would only put them on as needed on trail and taken off and always stored flat before the highway drive home.

That's a good point. And that's what the jeep guys recommend for their's as well. Clean then apply. I was looking into some sun resistant vinyl that might help with the sun fading.

You know... if you copyright your design shapes (easy to do!), you could get corporate ad $ for putting their logos on them... you have to market these! Are you making DXF files of them? Easy enough to get a CNC cutting XY plotter to punch them out...

How strong is the magnet? Are they hard to remove once attached?
