Feels good. Rear is smooth. Might have a small vibration up front. Not sure. I can hear it but don't feel anything.

You might have the same problem I did. I had vibration around 23mph and felt like it was coming from the front, took it in for alignment and the guys did an inspection of the vibration and they found out it needed pinion shims which did not come with the kit(toytec), I had them throw them in and now it rides perfect.

That's interesting. I might have to look into that. Seems to happen around that same speed. Sounds like a faint pulse. Thanks for the info

@ccallen is that a V series? Any idea how much weight they are rated for?
Did you do any reinforcing inside the shell? ARE told me they do not recommend RTT’s on their fiberglass models at all. Just curious...

It is the V series. I struggled with the same dilemma. The weight capacity is 300lbs, but once you open the tent half the weight is distributed to the latter side. I asked a ton of people before going this route and they have had success so i decided to give it a try myself. And no I did not do any reinforcing in the topper. I also watched a video of a guy trying to purposely smash a fiberglass boat, and it was really durable. That helped me pull the trigger.

Nice! I figured I could get by with doing it on my V and that ARE probably just said “no” to save their butt so that hasn’t really stopped me. Money for a tent has however. Haha.
You using the factory ARE rack or did you install one yourself?

(Photo added for no real reason other than the fact that people like looking at pictures and we got ice today)

If you haven't already added the bed stiffeners you may want to do so now. With all that weight over your bed your bed sides will likely get pushed out some.

Yea kinda the conclusion I came to as well. I just installed the Yakima round bars. They seem to do the job well. I had the Factory ARE tracks installed too. Here is that video I found. And nice looking truck, I love the ext cab long bed If I wasn't looking at having kids down the road I would still own one.

I've thought about those stiffeners, but I never saw a ton of info saying they were really needed. I look in to it more. Oh btw thats one shitty view... :boink::bowdown::bowdown:

Definitely look into the bed stiffener issue more. I have several local TW friends with RTTs who had 1/4 inch gaps at the top of their tailgate gap between the rails. Once they added the bed stiffeners they trued up nicely. Some guys have apparently had their beds crack near the bottom due to stress from frequent off roading without the stiffeners.

As for the view... I never get tired of it.
