Well shit...I didn't want to know that for a reason (denial is a powerful thing) but it's less than I thought if I were to guess.

Bought a 96 with 178k a little less than a year ago for 3000. 1200 for frame repair, 900 new tires, 450 new clutch and master, 1100 for rough country lift all new shocks and tie rods, 1200 new leaf springs and shock mount. So thats 7850. And last week my cat con got stolen and while trying to pull the muffler off i broke the o2 sensor. So add another 350 and we have 8200. FML

I'm not good at keeping track of things, but lets just say it's a lot.
I paid 10K for my '99 in 2006 with 73,000 miles on it. I wouldn't be surprised if I spent that much since then on maintenance and repairs.
That's kind of what pushed me to just buy new this time around.

Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0’s in the rear, Total Chaos UCA’s, Al-lpro expo leafs, K&N cold air intake, TRD headers,Magnaflow catback exhaust,URD short throw shifter, switched out my 60/40 bench seat for some Tacoma Limited seats, Replaced the vinyl shift boot for a leather one, completely soundproofed the cab w/ Frost King. Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
Off the top of my head, I've put about $7k into her and still need to install Deaver expedition springs, TC UCA's(Next on the list) re-gear, lockers front and rear, install a Supercharger w/7th injector kit, both front and rear(w tire carrier and jerry can) off road bumpers w/ winch and lights, sliders, armor and on board air and Tundra brake upgrade. I'm probably looking at about another $10k-$15k before she's at where I want her....not counting adding to my sound system.

I started with this 2004 TRD 4x4 with a seized 3.4 that i bought in 2014 with 147k miles for $500. I got it running & on the road and ready for its 1st voyage, a 3300 mile camping trip for about $2500 total invested. I haven't added up the receipts since the Toytec lift, wheels/tires & tundra brakes but i don't consider it done yet. Love this truck!

Maybe $15K including purchase back in 2013. By no means finished though.

I honestly throw away receipts because I'm passed the point of wanting to know.

I want a Casita so bad!!! I was going to pull the trigger but I already bought the camper shell so I'm going to try and rough it in the camper shell for a bit and Lord willing pay cash for the Casita.

I bought mine new in 2014. I may be selling it because i bought a cabin & property in the mountains of WV. We absolutely love this camper but since i bought the cabin its just been sitting in my driveway under my carport.

You paid 17k... for a first gen.... from a dealer. WOW.

Also, 1-9, 11-13 is routine maintenance. Are we including that? I would like to revise my previous number....

If I just had the lower ball joints replaced and didn’t purchase new bolt flanges, does that pose any issues?

The ball joints that came off were still in good condition...122k miles.

My bad for changing the subject on the thread! I’m about 4.6k into the truck so far. Purchased for 10k 122k miles.

Replaced lower ball joints, added Deaver leaf pack, bilstein 5100s, total chaos UCAs, method grid wheels 16”, BF Goodrich KO2 285/75/16 x4, wet okole seat covers, weathertech mats, and ceramic tinted windows

Too much, makes me sad. I didn't realized I have that much $$$ to spent on it. Should be living in it instead of my house, lol.

This was a partial list in 2008...add in the $19000 I spent on the truck in 2005...plus a timing belt, water pump, 2 alternators, a couple oil changes, 2 other sets of tires

    Ouch
