Well, I’ve spent most of today welding and grinding on this panel. Little fire in my shoe and a few choice words. The panel is in, but I’m gonna have some wrinkles due to warping.
I don’t have a gas welder, but sure thinking it might have been a wise choice.

Oh well a day in the shop with Duke (my Labrador Retriever) isn’t a bad day.

Definitely copied this idea that I saw last week, but I needed organization! My foam cutting skills suck

Also, I combined two different mounts and glued them to the empty airbag switch spot to magnetically hold my phone. Best thing ever.

I’m sure they didn’t pull it straight in the shop after I dropped it off. They have a ton of vehicles parked around their shop.

    Fingers crossed anyway.

Take the bumper off first, take the bolt off that holds the filler neck to the gas take out so you don’t have to lift as high.

More people the better buuuuut me and my dad were able to do it

I did it with 3 people, wouldn't do any less. Need to lift it up and over the filler neck and then you can go back, set it down, and slide it off easily.

Also, make sure you disconnect all the brake light wiring clips first. :anonymous:

If you pop your gas cap off you can slide the filler neck out of the black plastic surround without having to unscrew it.

I did it by myself in about 15 minutes.

It helps to have a forklift :D

Noted, luckily I've got two suckers at my disposal. I'll try and get all the clips the first go around haha. How did you notch the tube you welded in for your upper mount. I liked how high that was mounted and I'm attempting to duplicate it.

Best I can muster is my engine lift through the bed bars, but I've got people who can help me lift it

If you have an exposed beam in your garage, you could set up a block system and lift it by the bed bars.

Why are you taking off the bed? Just for the shock relocate?

Fully finished garage unfortunately, lost lots of easy to access attic space with that design choice unfortunately. Bed is coming off so I can get the upper bar welded in nicely without trying to get the MIG gun in there all sidewards.

Yeah. 10" with the welded rod ends. Upper mounts are obviously as high as possible without going through the bed, lower mounts are a little bit below the axle.
