You are right about the rotary burning oil, but the Mazda 3 is not a rotary. They use dohc inline 4 cyls. The RX8 is the only Mazda running rotary motors.

No prob. I would never own a rotary. They put out amazing power for their size, but they have no torque, burn oil, and get crappy gas mileage. JMO.

I have a Mazda 6 and as far as a family car I will continue to purchase Mazda's. I have had zero problems with my car and really enjoy it. They are definately worth the money and will definately last for a long time. I drove my last Mazda for 225000 miles before I traded it in.

I had a mazda protege 5... no problems other than the timing belt came lose and for some reason busted up some of my fuses at the same time one year. Now that I looked back. I did drive it from Indiana to Albama, then to Alabama to California all in 2 months. Probably had more weight than it's payload capacity too. Timing belt was 4.5 years old when it broke.

I did have the same annoying buzz that I have in the passenger side of my Taco (around 25-30mph) though.

That's fucking sweet. If I ever decide to paint my truck, it's either going military green or urban camo'd like that.
