Our enclosed trailer has the same latch on the man door.

Nice. Do you like it? Does it function properly? Please share! I don’t want to cut a hole in my door for a crappy handle!

I upgraded our all aluminum enclosed trailer to the 'RV door' and it came with this latch. The latch works well. You can slam the door and it will latch shut, once it is latched you don't have to put any more pressure to turn the dead bolt. It is nice to be able to lock it from the inside too.
I have lots of other complaints with the poor build quality of our Neo trailer- but the latch isn't one of them.

Do you have the model number of said latch handy? I want to toss that in my product archive for future use...

Damn! I need three windows but that one won’t work. Thanks for letting me know though. That’s cool.

The last two months have been rough but I’m back to work on the camper for at least a few days. Hopefully more!

I didn’t like the gap around the door so I banded the door edge with two layers of 6oz fiberglass. It doesn’t add a lot of thickness but it adds some.

    CE5B1604-5D15-4CE1-8F04-519D8CF2C98D.jpg
It’s not the cleanest glass work but it doesn’t need to be. Once this is cured, I’ll come back in and sand it all flush to both door faces and square up the edges. Then I’ll route the edges on both sides and come back and wrap the edges with 4oz cloth.

I also picked up some paint that I’m going to put on a bigger scrap piece of panel to see if we like the color and test the application process. You’ll see what color my wife and I are most interested in when I get the panel painted! Just need several days (and nights) of warmer weather. This weekend may be just the weather I need! I just need to get in gear and prep the panel!

You and me both! I just want it done and out of the garage! When it’s permanently on the back of the truck and I’ve cleaned the garage, I’m going to sit in a camp chair in the middle of the empty space and drink an iced tea and watch the world go by. I may do this multiple days in a row.

All caught up now! Oh man, when those walls were coming together I got really excited, as if I was the one building it! Great stuff!

Haha, I can give you that ‘build it’ experience if you like. Be over at my house at 7am on Saturday!

Thanks for reading through it all. I’m still shooting to have this thing on the truck in may/June.

Got some work done tonight. Felt good.

There it is. The banding on the door. Lookin’ goood.

There we go...all trimmed up. Still need to clean it up and square up the edges.

    A40D432C-5A97-40EF-A25F-4BE282844D22.jpg
I also prepped the test paint panel. Sanded it and put a layer of epoxy with fairing beads mixed in. Just like the camper. I’ll sand this down tomorrow and clean it up for primer. Then paint. Hopefully I can get all the paint on by Tuesday. We’ll see!

I would give you a hand if I lived nearby. Sounds like fun! I dont think a plane ride to WA from MO would be too cheap.
