Apparently, the new one is going to get a snorkel as a factory option.

 

Plowing last night was the worst; even though I run studded tires on the plow truck I had ZERO traction. Had to use the plow angle to push myself out of the banks a couple of times after I hit them last night. I usually sweep my neighbor's driveway clear when he's not home, but last night I made 3 passes, nearly got stuck every time, and said the hell with it. It was like plowing a skating pond that's at a 15 degree angle.

 

I hate when that happens....

 

yup, then the 4runner and tundra have fox shocks now and the 4runner has an "overlanding" type rack

 

Only answer for plowing like that is chains but that's a PITA for a road-going truck. I didn't bother shoveling or snow blowing last night, thinking the ice would form on top of the snow and it would make life easier this morning. Well... it rained so damn much, I ended up with about a solid 2" block of ice this morning... I just threw down a bunch of salt and hopefully the sun and salt will clear the driveway.

 

Fortunately the hydraulics on the old Fisher are still strong enough to shove the truck backwards if I change the angle on the plow. Otherwise I'd have been doing a LOT of shoveling.

Exactly. I have a full set of chains for it, but I almost never run them because they're such a pain to get on and tensioned. Since I drive it to work on bad days they're not a full-time option.

 

You need to drive that thing! My truck is only a year older and I have more than twice the miles!

I like that manufacturers are putting better components on their vehicles so you can actually get a fairly capable and comfortable 'stock' vehicle. You pay out the nose for some of the upgrade packages and I don't think I'd ever buy one of them, but I do like them.

 

LOL! Drive it everyday... luckily work isn't too far from home, so don't put too many miles on it. Might make a trip to WV this year, and then when we go to the Outer Banks in July.

 

I have almost 140k on my 2011.

Debating getting an old Subaru or something to keep miles down on the Ford.

 

Morning y'all! Parking lots on either end of the commute were ice rinks, but the roads weren't too bad!

It was cold enough this morning that my aux battery in the bed didn't want to work for the first 15min of the drive. Then it suddenly kicked in and I had base again.
