TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I'm thinking that bike is just a little bit faster than the truck.

 

Not once it is twin charged with a turbo.......

 

To answer the last two threads yes she is a little bit faster than the blue Tacoma but at the same time she's getting a little bit of a rotrex supercharger treatment as we speak!

The funny part is that my daily driver is a
Prius C.

 

Curious what it would take to modify this blower to our 4.0 tacomas. Liked this design better cause the air has less turns to the rotors

 

Where can I find red rubber couplings like that for my CAI???? I love the look and would like to add those to mine.

Unless u have the afe made "trd" intake (aluminum lid).... then contact afe.

Yup....AFE Pro dry s, with a coupe lid

 

Then id contact afe and then toyota.

I got new ones sent to me but didnt want red so never asked for em. I just called afe and told em what i had.
I got new couplers with hose clamps, 4 new maf sensor gaskets, and 2 of their stickers to replace the 1 i took off the lid when i painted it. Twas cheap, and to make it easier, i had a pdf copy of the installation document and could verify part #s with the rep on the phone

 

Yeah I still got my instructions. I’ll call them with part numbers and see what they can do...

 

They are standard style intake couplers. I don't know the sizes off hand but I'm sure you can measure yours or search the forums. Here is where I got my replacements. http://siliconeintakes.com/

The only difference in the engines is the dual VVT-i isn't it? The 5th gen 4runner still runs the 1GR-FE like we do.

 

Have u guys seen the whipple for the newer 1gr from urd? Way better.

 

It moves more air, correct? I just turned over 70k this morning and I was dreaming about what do I do when this engine needs an upgrade. Bigger SC? Stroker? I think I'm keeping the truck a while unless something unfortunate happens.

 

It moves more air, yes, at the cost of moving more money out of your wallet.

 

Hey John, what's your timeline for swapping out the 2.85 with the quick change? i'm looking to upgrade my stock pulley and while I also see the value of the quick change, i'm babystepping it right now as i'm new to the SC world; and if you're doing this soon then i'd be willing to giver your 2.85 a home.
