I was just looking at suspension for the wife's 5th gen. It doesn't really need it, but it's closing on 100k miles so you know...maintenance. The pro suspension would be a nice upgrade to the stock sr5. She doesn't really want a lift. Otherwise it'll be 6112s left at the lowest setting, 5100 rears and either wheelers 1.5" rear lift springs or maybe just keep stockers. And superbumps, those are one of the best cheap mods imo

Yeah I would like to get maybe an inch or something just for look, she doesn't off-road, but she does like looking like the car is gonna go offroad. Ours is only on about 40k miles, but by the time the 2019's come out and the prices actually drop we will be getting closer to the 60-70k I think.

Either way, it's a great factory toyota option, which is key for me as it will get less crap from a dealer trying to fix something on it, at least I am assuming it will.

I have never tried this but heard you could slide the center of a paper towel roll or any cardboard tube over each wiper they will be ready to go when you are.

No guys, you're missing the problem. It's WHEN I am driving, not before I drive. I understand how to clean off a wiper...

When I am not running them, but then need to use them, they have frozen from new road mess, new snow, new sleet whatever... And they won't ever defrost, I ran the truck at 85 and all defrost high as I could go yesterday and nothing.

Even better as a plastic tube of that material will not absorb water.

My wife's car is much better of gas than my truck but with the 2 of us, 2 kids and a large dog, it rarely gets taken on trips. The truck gets taken pretty much every time we go anywhere.
You can do the Italian Tune Up on a short trip. It's basically just revving the shit out of the engine for a little bit.
Only perk to being factory is the warranty on the lift basically.

I quickly flick the wiper stalk up, then they sit higher. It's temporary and takes a few tries sometimes, but it works to keep them warm during storms.

Who has paper towel roll-sized wipers any more, besides me? This trick would work on the Dodge, but not on anything more modern. Everything's got 20-26 inch wipers now.

Hows your cabin filter look? When I replaced mine I notice a big difference in the air flow through it, which could mean the difference between a frozen or thawed wipers when using your defrost.

Thanks FJ is the worst at accumulated snow/ ice under the wipers. Since the windshield is almost vertical the defrost doesn't hit the windshield until a spot over the wipers, so the accumulation while driving can get pretty bad sometimes

You would need 2 paper towel rolls per wiper, one on each end of a wiper. I like the PVC rolls idea better, as they don't absorb water.

I just hit 1k miles, my defroster works great. Again it is because my wipers rest BELOW that defrosting line, they stay frozen forever.

The SR5 seats on the Gen 2 are awful!

Outside temp display and compass is nice to have too.

I liked my SR5 seats. I'm relatively short though, but I thought they were really comfortable. The TRD seats were better in the loaner I got once, but I wasn't unhappy with mine at all.

Don't do this... It will turn into a frozen paper mess that is not easily cleaned up or removed. The cardboard just absorbs water, softens, then freezes and is a PITA to get off because it freezes to the wiper blade pretty well.
