Finally did the Yellow Wire 2.0 mod. Buttons and Lights seem to work as intended while in 4low.

Temp/Compass upgrade complete! The X-Runners didn't have this feature, but all the wiring was in place. It's just a matter of installing an ambient temp sensor up by the grille and then sourcing an overhead console with display. I found mine at a local dismantler.

The console is modular, but the panels (glasses cubby, lamps, display/cubby) are semi-permanently installed by heat-mushing posts over. Technically it'd be possible to just swap out the front portion with the display, but good luck finding just that part.

I found it interesting that the connector for the display wasn't just taped up in the headliner, but it was actually plugged in to a dummy socket on the front cubby of the stock console... no fishing around required.

If you're interested in doing this, keep in mind that the sensor and consoles changed ... 2005-2008 vs 2009+. Make sure you get the right parts!

The connector is for my mobile air compressor. The surface to air switch is for my LED engine compartment light. I’m a gadget nut. Check out all the other mods I’ve posted.

My old work made the stinger missile launchers. One time, we had a ground battery display that we needed to move to one of our other buildings, so we just loaded it in my truck :D

I was pretty bummed because I wasn't allowed to take a picture. Plus they made me throw a tarp over it because my work just happened to be next to an airport...:goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

Would have made for a great post in the "what is the craziest thing you have hauled in your truck" thread.

    Looked like this:

I think I'm the first 2nd Gen 5 lug with a ubolt flip. It requires moving the lower shock mount to the axle.

You better hook up the buttons to some rad shit with a shifter like that. Pickle switch as a train horn or a bright light bar. Trigger cues the high beams, etc.
