Maybe a silly question, don't remember if I asked this before. Do any bicycle shops take trade-ins? I have a 2014 GT Aggressor 1.0 (cheap compared to what most of you have), and was thinking of upgrading from 26" to 29".

Yeah many local shops do but... don’t expect much in return. Best bet is trying Craigslist or Facebook market. Still a good market for decent 26erS.

There's a shop here in Denver called The Pro's Closet that deals in used bikes.

I've bought stuff from them on eBay. They have been great to deal with through there for sure.

    Yeah.
I looked up your bike on BicycleBlueBook and it looks like it is worth about $150. Post it on Craigslist and Facebook locally.

I have sold several bikes on Pinkbike and use BikeFlights to ship. I have found that it's the best way to get what the bike is worth, especially if it is a more expensive bike. Trade-ins don't give you much, and only selling local limits potential buyers.

Only problem I can see with PB is that shipping and PayPal fees will probably come to too much for a bike that's only worth $150. Also, Pinkbike is definitely more of a high end audience for sure. Craigslist is probably the best option for what he's got.

Yeah the wheelset came from afar..........in separate damn shipments for some dumb reason AND had to be home to sign for them and wasn't so I had to chase them around at PO stupid annex place to pick them up - twice! Somehow, 2 items bought and paid for on the same day from the same seller ended up being sent separately and arrived 2 weeks apart - go figure. Kinda waiting on another cog and chainring. Gonna do round 32t x 16 and 14 so I'll have 2:1 for offroad and less than 2:1 for less than offroad.

Farley's run either 4.5 or 3.8 inch width tires depending on the frame package, but on a 27.5 ID not the usual 26...so call it a draw?

Edit: May as well throw in my skinny bitch bike to balance it out. 28 pounds with a bottle.

Went for my first ride of 2018 today. It’s crazy being able to ride in northern Utah in February.
