    Wazzup TW!

My beautiful wife suprised me with a pro shifter knob. Install was easy but I'm having an issue with it being tight enough. It's at the point where I feel if I turn it one more full turn it might break but where it is now its to lose. Anyone else have this issue? I don't have a problem cranking on it if it won't break but the threads inside the knob are plastic so... I'm OCD and it being sort of lose is killing me.

    I appreciate the help.

Tighten it, I was the same way with my stock knob until it drove me nuts

If u don’t want to do that, u can put something in the hole of the knob to give it just a little spacer. That way it lines up and gets tight.

Have any idea of how long such thing may need to be? Would save me a lot of taking it on and off

Use a couple of wraps of electrical tape on the threads.

Well I'm happy with my shift knob so I haven't tried it but if its threaded the more you Wrap the threads the tighter it will feel before you feel like you'll break it .

Maybe except it's a lot thicker. And isn't technically a thread tape.

I have a TRD Pro came with the shift knob after a couple thousand miles mine came lose I thought it broke then realized it wasn’t threaded all the way down turned it one more full turn haven’t had an issue. I’d say turn another full turn and test it out.

The problem is it gets really tight after another half turn and I'm afraid I'll break the plastic threads if I force it the rest of the turn to straighten it back out.

Well mine did make me a bit nervous tightening it as it came around but maybe best in your case to just go with the Teflon tape suggestion

    Man, TW, what a resource.

Teflon tape made it a 10 sec fix! Thanks @Frankenstuff
