Well... Buying a Prinsu for $550. It has never been mounted, so its like new, plus I don't have to wait. My shell doesn't have freaking Tracks! Install seems like a real pain, and the cheapest I can find a shop to do it for is $250. Everywhere else either doesn't want to or is closer to $500!!! I know if it is not done properly it can ruin things, so I am probably just going to pay them the $250. Just Sucks!

It kind of depends how much you need your truck bed, I resorted to a XL Nemo Nomad inflatable, so if I need to haul something, I just deflate and roll it up. Many don't like inflatables, so semi sleeper mattresses work pretty well, and you can spend what ever you want on one quality wise, not sure where you live, as far as humidity, but avoiding mold is always about drying out your equipment as often and thorough as possible. That can be easier said than done in some locales, I hang my stuff up to dry, at times while Im camping, and when I return home I unpack and make sure everything is dried out before I pack it back up.

I’ve installed Yakima tracks on my last 2 ARE camper tops... Hauled 160 lbs of boats up there on Yakima pads, towers, and crossbars at 75 mph with no issues.

Super easy to do... As long as you can measure and use a drill.

would it be Tule Tracks for Leer? is it really that simple? I know your measurements need to be exact.

Just edited and included a link to a YouTube video... It is really simple.

Hardest part is making sure everything is even and squared up before you start drilling. Painters tape over where you plan to drill will help keep the fiberglass from chipping. Then just a dab of silicone in each hole, lay down the tracks, and install the bolts. It helps having someone outside to hold the Allen wrench from spinning, but not necessary. I ended up using the Yakima landing pads placed in the tracks to brace the Allen wrench from spinning and tightened the nuts from inside the camper.

And I’ve been told all of the tracks are the same - Rhino, Yakima, Thule, etc. And it definitely doesn’t matter if you add Yakima to a Leer or Thule to an ARE.

I’ve always had Yakima stuff, so that’s what I used... But honestly it doesn’t matter, they are both quality systems.

I'm considering a pretty comfortable cot I found at REI. I also have a Thermarest Neo air. Pretty comfortable for a blow up mattress. I also have the bag that I can use to fill it to avoid using my breath which can be a breeding ground for mold. Being that I'll be living out of it, a memory foam , though the most comfortable of all options may also be the worst as far as mold growth underneath.

I use a 4" piece of memory foam. I think my wife got it at Walmart or Target, so it's not an expensive one. I also use a fiber bed topper (which might be a Serta or other name brand) with the memory foam. The combination is pretty comfortable on top of carpeted plywood.

I haven't had any mold issues, but I mainly use it for weekend trips. As fuelhead said, between trips, everything gets pulled out, dried out, and then stored in plastic bins.

Prior to my current setup, I have used a metal/nylon cot, and a Coleman blow up mattress. The memory foam setup is the most comfortable out of the options I've used.

Definitely need comfort if I’m going to be living out of it. The memory foams seem like a pretty good option. Thanks!

That front top window is just for looks correct? Is it just fiberglass/carpet on the back side of it? Just ordered mine a couple of weeks ago.

All right, dudes.. So, there's a lady on CL that's selling a Century top for my rig, and its got a bent rear door frame as well as missing the glass (she had it flipped up while reversing out of the garage). She ended up buying a new one because apparently Century and Leer were bought out by another company, so Century wouldn't provide parts for the older models. But interestingly enough, she says the new Century has the same dimensions on the back as the old one.

Has anyone had experience buying just the necessary parts straight from the manufacture and/or dealership? What would be recommended in this particular case?
