Originally wanted a black one but then I decided to snatch up a remaining 2017 and get a deal on it. Next time for sure!

I guess I thought that I had mentioned it in a couple of earlier posts, that I was thinking about ordering the Nox Lux overlays.

Told my wife that she and the kids could get me those for my birthday (in March.) She says, “Why don’t you order them now, because you’ll just keep bugging until then...”

So, of course, I did.

Of course they cost $100 for the 7 overlays, which many guys will not pay. I used 5.

But I think they are totally worth it... definitely for the looks, and for the ease of applying them.

 

Looks great, now if they could just make it Offroad v-6, access cab and 6speed Manual Trans. That SR5 life, I enjoyed my 17 SR5 for 3 months before trading it in for my 17 TRD OR w/Manual Trans.

 

I kept that 4 cylinder for 27 months and I had to get rid of the black. If I ever come into some money I would buy another Tacoma.. maybe. I would have to try one of the new Ford Rangers out 1st. (If I had the money.)

 

anyone discover a black spray paint that matches the black pretty well? i dont want something thats "close enough"

You nay Sayers about Meguiar's Fast Finish. I put a coat on that truck last August and I washed it once a week. It still has good protection left on the paint. Shines better than it did when I bought it.

Finally got a somewhat clean shot with the new grille badge

 

Nice. I have a MBM 2018 4x2 SR also. I put Level 8 MK 6 wheels on mine matte black. I took the caps off...that "8" looks stupid (no bueno!) I will post an image when my Cali Legacy Plates arrive (Black w/gold lettering.) Minimalist...clean...ftw.

BTW date of purchase 12.30.17 I hit 10k miles yesterday. I do subcontract local deliveries and this is the correct tool for the job + it looks cool.

Changed oil myself at 8.5k miles. No Toyota Care here. Pennzoil Gold 0W20. Dexos1 Generation 2. SN+. Fumoto drain valve.

I plan on using Meguiar's exclusively also...and only microfiber towels to wash, dry, and apply wax/polish. RainX on the glass.

I previously owned a 2005 Tacoma base model 4x2 5Speed Reg Cab. Date of purchase 10.21.04. One of the very first 2TR FE's off the line at the former NUMMI plant,, locally in Fremont CA. CA smog laws kick in 5 model years later. My first smog check was in 2010 at 510,000 miles. I paid to put a new cat on this truck etc, in order to pass. I wrecked the truck at 750k miles or I would still be driving it now with well over 1 million miles on it.

Toyota durability. Why I bought a new 2018 SR 2TR FE. Hecho en Santone.
