Camburg or solo for front long travel? Camburg uses uniballs on the lower control arm to the frame and solo uses bushings. And for uppers camburg uses bushings at frame mount and solo uses uniballs which kit is better and why

I've never really seen any negative feedback on anything from Camburg though, everything they make is top notch. Really what this says is there has not been any feedback yet on the Camburg rear LT

Uppers are heimed, but you can get heims on the upper for Camburg too, then its all uniball/heim and no rubber bushings

You have my attention. What's the benifit of heims on the upper?
I have the first kit camburg came out with converted to a 4wd kit was thinking of getting something new but if I can upgrade the bushings to heims I might just go that route

Ask @motoxscott but you would need at least complete new uppers, not sure about new and old and if geometry has changed. The benefit is heims, and you can adjust the upper so if you wanted to solid mount the lowers you can adjust alignment from the upper and/or you can just get more alignment having the upper adjustable

Thanks I sent him a message asking these questions. Before I got the kit years ago I emailed camburg and they said everything on the kits were the same except for shock mounts on the lower control arm. Maybe Scott will have a different answer tho.

Not as steep as Camburg’s/TC kits
My Kit was 2200$ with heimed UCA and $1100 for my coilovers. Taxes made the kit go to 3.5k

    Exactly haha

To add to that, DMZ's kit believe it or not does get raced a decent amount in the overseas arena. The kit has had enough success that one of the high profile racers even paid for Tim to fly over for two weeks to help set up his truck and show Tim around town sometime this month.

Nothing wrong with Burg and I have only heard good things, but Tim's kit has been extensively tested by racers, folks on here, and many total chaos builds as well just to name a few. To have that many different groups utilize his kit with little to no negative feedback...yea man that sort of speaks for itself.

Im sure in time Burg's kit will prove itself as racers do run their kit and I would imagine its pretty well ironed out. That said though, you got to give DMZ credit for his kit considering he is just a custom shop instead of an off-road racing design company such as Burg.

I think it's some type of upgrade that's needed waiting on a reply from Scott at camburg. I know for solos kit you have to get there spindles to use the uniball adapter

Actually read your post wrong. Yes camburg has uniballs in the lower control arm and not bushings. To convert that you would need to contact tc. But camburg still uses a ball joint which I want to eliminate

Not positive but I dont believe DMZ is a race team first like the company you dealt with. I think Coot was just saying that his on the road products have been so well received hes now made it up the ranks worldwide and is designing for other teams. I may just be misunderstanding though.:anonymous:

lol I actually read that quote a long time ago today at lunch and it got switched around to me thinking about Camburg's race team vs. DMZ's specializing in 2nd gen Tacomas. I agree with what you said - in fact Tim's the opposite of the team I was talking about - so I'll probably remove my post since it was based on the mouse in the wheel in my head running out of steam this afternoon. lol

You are right in that DMZ is a fab shop that has been helping all the guys in socal/wherever achieve what aspirations they want their trucks to do. Although the DMZ kit is only a leaf SUA, it does get put on race vehicles and has gotten some very good results for the class these guys race in. I would argue that most SUAs with the possible exception of DTF are made for street vehicles...links are what the dedicated racers tend to use although we got some sick street tacos on here.

If you want to eliminate the ball joint you have to go solo.

By the way they are talking about pivot points not a uniball where the ball joint goes in your kit.

That's what I was thinking maybe camburg will contact me with a solution.

I think the person that asked the question was talking about lower control arm to frame mount being uniball and not rubber bushings
