I am too, but that was the one thing I dropped the ball on. I actually ended up going home the second day we were there and getting everything set up. It's amazing how much of it just comes naturally, even for someone who'd never held a newborn.

I apologize for forgetting, but is this your first? If it is, and I hate being the "guy with kid advice" since I've only managed to keep our daughter alive for 5.5 months thus far, but if you don't have one, the Fisher Price Rock-n-Play is a life saver. Some doctors don't like it for long term use, but it was the only way Brenna would sleep. Also, the Boppy lounger is brilliant if you don't have one because it gives you a place to put the baby where you don't have to worry about something happening. Feel free to PM me if you're going insane when they show, as I've just gone through some of this, so I can at least listen / get it / etc.

Tell me about it! It changes your life, but it's the best part. I was always indifferent towards having kids. If I met a woman who didn't want kids, I'd have been completely okay with that, but Amy wanted children and I wasn't opposed. The second I met Brenna I knew this is how my life was supposed to play out.

I'm 1 of 1, the wife is 1 of 4. We've decided we'll probably try for a 2nd sooner vs later since we're not exactly young anymore for kids (although I don't know how they numbers are going to work with daycare, but that's a side issue). The wife wouldn't mind 3, but I'm at a hard stop at 2. Being an only was only good on Christmas, and losing my Dad young made it tough for it to be just me. Plus, three is a minivan, or at least a 3-row SUV. Our friends just decided after nearly a year of deliberating to have a second and they found out they're having twins. I don't envy them.

 

It's the HEAD relay that was making noise and I pulled.

 

Is there a diagram on the side of the relay? You can try jumping the terminals in the fuse block manually to see if the high beams work correctly that way.

Example:



Terminals 85 & 86 are the primary circuit and are continuous; they trigger the secondary circuit (87 & 36) to close with an electromagnet. Strip the ends on a piece of electrical wire and insert them into the secondary circuit terminals (while holding the insulated part of the wire!!). If the lights still do their 'seizure' thing then you know the problem isn't the relay itself.

 

Sounds like you're a few more tries away from her saying "Fine, just get it over with" and you're in!

Sounds like a job for one of the non-Tacoma driving folks.

No diagram. I'm guessing the secondary circuit for the headlights would be the two fat terminals though. Would you agree? I just bought a test light, I get connectivity across the two fat terminals and from one fat terminal to one small terminal with the switch off and the key out. I'm starting to lean toward the column switch. Off to the nearest dealership I go. The local parts store didn't have a relay.

 

I told my ex my suspension was worn out, and for safety reasons, I needed to upgrade.

Yeah thank god my girlfriend doesn't care what I do to the truck. She knows I'll keep my budget and be responsible, mostly. As long as I'm having fun, she's happy.
