Just one set. So who knows, maybe I got a bad set. I'm not trying to start a shitshow here, I just wanted share my experiences with them, and personally, I think they're overrated for the money. As I said before, your experiences may be different than mine. Our expectations may be different as well. If you're happy with your KO2's, that's great.

The only reason I mentioned the GG's was because they are a good alternative that will still give you the same looks as K02's but for a lot less $$ and I was happy with them.

I just bought a set yesterday in original 245/75/16 as I wanted to mitigate any hit to Mpg with a wider tire. So far (and I’ve probably been hyper sensitive), I haven’t experienced any additional road noise over stock Dunlops. The ride is definitely firmer but not rough in any way. It rained here yesterday and BFGoodrich AT were infinitely better handling than the Dunlaps, which even when new were not good on wet pavement.

Other tires that I considered were the Faulken Wildpeak A/T3 and Cooper AT3. If you go with E rated tires , there’s not a huge difference in cost, at least in my area. All are really good tires.

However, the final plus that made me pull the trigger was the availability of the BFGoodrich at other Discount Tire locations in areas I frequently travel. If you spend the money on the certificates, I wanted to have immediate availability if I have a problem with a tire on a road trip to San Diego or Santa Fe, etc.. I wanted the ability to drop in a local Discount Tire and get a replacement and not have to drive all the way back to Texas on a spare. Bottomline - I checked available inventory at Discount Tires in locations I travel in the same size and it was in stock at every location. Literally all over the Southwest US. That was the deciding factor for me.

Their certificates are hard to beat. I have had 3 of my wife's 4 tires on her highlander replaced due to road hazards "nails".... discount tire has always been amazing at getting everything perfect. I even moved from the state of tx to Louisiana and had a tire issue. They overnighted me a new tire free of charge and told me to destroy the bad one. I will continue to work with them!

Totally agree. Discount takes care of customers. Very refreshing in this day and age.

I learned the hard way about tire availability.

We were road tripping from Austin to San Diego with the family on a spring break a few years ago in my wife’s Landcruiser. We had a flat about two hours east of El Paso in literally the most remote place there is on I-10. When I pulled the spare from underneath, it was damn near bald (note - if you buy a car used, always check condition of the spare). I thought to myself “OK, it might make it to El Paso”...crossing fingers...definitely not telling my wife there might be a problem....:)). I got the spare changed and called ahead to Discount Tire to set up a new tire - guess what? Absolutely nothing in that tire size available in the entire El Paso metro area. Discount Tire guy even called around to competitors. We ate dinner in El Paso and I decided to proceed on our scheduled plan to make it to Tucson, as Albuquerque was only other choice.

I was so damn nervous from El Paso to Tucson and I couldn’t have been happier to see the lights of Tucson as we rolled in around midnight. We got the kids in bed at a hotel and I got up early the next morning to go to nearest Discount Tire on the south side of Tucson, just as they opened. Manager called around and still no tires in all of Tucson but plenty in Phoenix and San Diego, with none in Yuma. Phoenix was quite a way out of our way, so I decided to go for it try for SD. Long story short - we made it and I picked up a certificate tire in Encinitas for $20.00 pro rated. I was so nervous that I’d strand the family but literally had no other choices before bypassing Phoenix. So if you buy certificates, make sure to check around inventories on Discount Tire website for the tires you’re planning on purchasing in places you routinely travel.

The wife snagged a set for me today for Valentine's Day. Total price per tire with free shipping was $145.49. They are hard to beat at that price.

If you do any amount of driving in snow there are better tires. We did our own little test on a small hill on the ranch I work on the Falken Wildpeak at3w, Duratracs and ko2's and the other 2 where able to go up the hill in 2 wheel drive and the ko2's couldn't do it.

I have had the Kos and the KO2s for the last 5 years and they are a great all round tire, I have had no problems with them, tough sidewall compared to some and quiet on most road surfaces. I don't think any all terrain tire is going to be quiet on concrete. Following a few people traveling around Africa and the KO2 was the tire of choice for them, pretty sure you don't want to have a flat in the middle of nowhere there.

Any idea how these would wear for chicago city driving? Low mileage but heavy use.

Have a quick question for you so I went to the tire shop yesterday and was asking about the KO2s and they’re trying to sell me Toyo tires because they said that the compound in the BFG’s are too soft in the tires and are wearing out for a daily driver

Rotate them often to compensate for the wear caused by frequent low-speed turns and you'll be ok. There are better choices for city driving, though, IMO, even in the all-terrain category. Any time you hit a pothole you'll be cursing all that unsprung weight.

My BFG A/T. Approaching 50,000 miles in the next week or so. These are not KO2 and KO2 are supposed to be improved.

I got 45k miles before they were worn. Slight noise but that’s what the radio is for. I drive like a lunatic so not surprising only got 45k. Looking at a different brand next.
