Hmm, so similar to Char-Griller Akorn but a Weber at a much higher price.

Hope your referring to where I grew up was raised and not where I am living now. And involves names like Little and Big Pine, The Sock, and Slate Run. And that you have a good time no matter what your dong there. My Great Great Grandmothers kitchen stove or what is left of it is in a State Park on the rim of Pine Creek Gorge.

Been giving a lot of thought to purchasing a MES dedicated for smoking trout and also doing jerky. Go back and forth on what to get still undecided. DNR is begging people to keep slot limits of trout in some of the limestone streams here because they are at carrying capacity. In the 70's had a Little Chief electric smoker and smoked a lot of Salmon and steelhead in Wa. State with it. Had it for about 15 years until the Ex threw it away when someone called the Fire Dept. on us when I was on recruiting duty in Lancaster. Today I don't miss the Ex so much but sure as hell miss my fish smoker. Would like something a little bit nicer this time though.

I’ll be in Wellsboro for the rally. Colton point... I fish the pine in that area.

    Where do you live now?

Beat me to it! “Taste the meat, not the heat!”

Can you take a picture of what you mean? I can compare it to mine, as well.

As soon as I read Colton Point thought damn hope he takes his fly rod, sounds like you already know that

Mn. Retired from the Navy in 96. Always figured I'd retire back in Tioga or Potter County but Ex wife didn't want anything to do what that. In 99 a head hunter contacted me from the #1 hospital in the Country. Timing was right my father had just died of cancer. Been here since. Usually make it back once a year if things work out.

It looks like the handle area for yours is different. On the Traeger, the cover uses a Velcro closure to wrap around the existing handle without taking it off.

The rear is held down by straps that pass underneath and go to the bottom front insulation piece.

Traeger doesn’t have side insulation, but it looks like you have some on at least one side. Held on by magnets?

I’ll take photos when it’s light out, possibly this afternoon but definitely this weekend, so that you can see the differences.

Ya the Traeger version seems to work pretty well. I'm sure most of them do. I like the magnet part for the side.

Thanks, I just need ideas on how to get the flap back to the barrel on the back. The front side, lid, I'm not sure how to fix that. The cover is on both sides, the magnet on the hopper side don't seem to hold when I open the lid.I called CS and he said send pics. I did, no response. That was 2 weeks ago. Anyway, it's running right now making bacon candy from fresh side. @Cold Iron, I didn't have all the ingredients that you posted. I just used brown sugar and freshly ground BP.
