They weren't number 1 for nothin! Really impressed. Not sure if they stack up against the Hikaris but I paid $40 total for all 6 bulbs! (Signed up for Amazon cards that I'll never use to get $100 off my order). I took the LONG way home from the gym last night just because I was so geeked at how these look compared to stock. It's unreal.

Looks good to me. How is the throw distance? Any chance you can go on dark, flat, open road and snap some pics from the bed of the truck overlooking the cab?

That's them! Shoutout to the guy that posted that novel of LED reviews. I was planning on sending them back in time for the 2/10 Hikari restock if they were trash or didn't fit but they blew me away. I'm sure I can get better pics this weekend. I live in the city so it's tough to find a curve like I want but I'll update.

 

The pics where I left the factorys in one side don't do it justice at all. I blame my cluttered garage. Seriously crazy to see them side by side in person.

Never heard of these, but the design of the bulb does look good. I like seeing the dome'ed LED starting to fade off the market and that flat LED's being more common. Those seem to perform a lot better. I also love to see more and more of the low profile fan housing! That makes a big difference in the ease of installation.

Curious what these will do. Post up good pics of the light output. We all know what the front of the trucks look like lol

To be fair, my fast-on HIDs take about 3 seconds to achieve full brightness; and its not that it isn't bright, it just goes from more bluish to white in those few seconds.

I wouldn't run HIDs in the high beams because i don't want to run another set of ballasts and a harness and when I use my high beams, it's usually just to notify someone rather than running it on for a while. I would probably run LEDs there.

Cars that have HIDs have low/high beams usually have a solenoid running off 1 bulb, so there's no need to warm it up. My previous car did.

 

I guess I could've said installation was easy. No problem at all. All 6 in a couple minutes

 

Do all the latest and greatest require anything beyond the bulb replacement? For example and harnesses required to be upgraded or anything ASIDE from the bulbs themselves needed?

 

Nope, the bulbs come with everything you need. Disconnect old factory halogen bulb and plug the new bulb into the connector. Making sure the positive and negative line up. If they are backward, not to worry the bulb just won't light up. In that case, just unplug and flip the connection around.

 

Not pulling your chain on the startup times. lol

Can anyone confirm that the 2018 Tacoma DCSB OR uses the same LED bulb as the 2017 model? I am looking at the Nineo H11 or Auxbeam H11 and Amazon is telling me these are not compatible with the 2018 model year. Anyone put any of the "top ten" rated LED bulbs in a 2018 yet? Any help for this newbee would be appreciated.

 

That all makes more sense and helps to de-dramatize my posts LOL. I hope you all know I am just trying to play devils advocate most of the time because I have no experience and would rather point out my own shortcomings rather than being a D. Especially when the other guy knows way more than I do. As I get older though it's harder to hold my tongue. During those times I can be a sarcastic SOB. But I still try to keep it lite and friendly.

Personally, I drive with my headlights and fogs on 100% of the time the truck is running, day or night. It's for safety, that's my rule, always has been. So I want people to see me. Very rarely do I mosey along. And those times I do, I want that idiot next to me or thinking about pulling out in front of me on their cell phones to see the lights and know I am there. Maybe it stems from my biker days. I also run my high beams at night everywhere I can up near me in the country, including the towns, whenever there aren't any oncoming cars. I flash them a lot too to warn deer that might be lurking behind brush or running through fields from hunters. We also have a lot of deer that graze on the sides of the roads near the shoulder where the speed limits are 50. Not sure what makes that grass so special but on average, I see no less than 20 deer a year dead on the sides of the roads I travel (less than a dozen). Some on roads you would never expect to see them. I've tried the horn and the flashing. The flashing is way more effective. Freaks them out and they run away. The horn just makes them look up while they wonder out into the road.

Yea, I had a new TSX back in 09' and it had HIDs. Those were my first experience with the tech. They were incredible and I remember gawking at how defined the cutoff line was and what the deal was with the stair step pattern. I know what that is now. My 16' ES300H has the new adaptive dual LED housings, with LED fogs. I paid extra for that. I still had to have them adjusted up a little for my taste. My throw is approximately a quarter of a mile of decent light with the high beams on. I can definitely see the 8"x24" green street signs lit up form that distance, and the lighter bodies of deer crossing the road. I want my Taco to be the same way. In the same areas with the OEM halogens yes, I can see the same distance but the light is much much dimmer and the definition of objects that far away is greatly reduces. At 60 mph (because we know I speed) I travel that 1300 feet in about 15 seconds. When I am concentrating on the curve where I know they have crossed I can forget they also cross at the field before the curve then we are talking about 300 feet and that equates to 3.5 seconds. So you can see where I am going here.

I need lights that are bright, flood the area with the same or better peripheral throw and that withstand being on all the time and allow me to flash and run the high beams at will. If we can come up with HIDs that will meet all these requirements for the same price as the latest and greatest LEDs tested on this thread then illuminate me. LOL I am not always cheap, but I am easy.

I am sure as @rlx02 said, this has got to be the low end of the food chain here. Likely some knock-offs from some country with Stan in the name at the end and probably around 20 bucks, shipped.
