I decided to pull the trigger on it and ordered from OEMPW for '17 TRD OffRoad. Won't be installing until later in the spring, so have time to decide on whether to go with 1/4" or 1/2" spacers up front. Will be doing a rear AAL regardless.

be aware the only spacers that can be use with this set up would be the 1 inch from Toytech. I called them and got the info from them, 1/4 or 1/2 would not fit. as the spacer goes under the spring and not a top plate.

Correct me if I'm wrong - my understanding is the TRD spacer would replace the spring perch at the bottom and therefore go under the spring. The 1/4" or 1/2" spacers go over the top plate. The difference being that the 1/2" spacer generally requires longer studs to accommodate the increased thickness and to give you sufficient ability to tighten top nuts down once installed into the strut housing - meaning you would need to disassemble the coils for both the 1/2" or 1" TRD Spacer.

I'm not sure Toytec gave you the right information?

Can you provide the full name of the dealership? When I type "OEMPW" into google, I get a bunch of stuff but none of it's Toyota related. Unless you ordered from the galaxy :D:

Astrological Analysis and meaning of OEMPW

OEMPW has a life path of 9. OEMPW means: With a Life Path 9, your numbers are (9, 18/9, 27/9, 36/9).

Correct it goes under the spring, so it would have to be disassemble. from what they told me the 1/4 or 1/2 would not fit the top as this is a 2.5 shock. here is the link to the one I am talking about,

I am just going for what I was informed, if it works I am all about it. since I want at least another 1/2 on my set.

But the real question is would a Wheelers 3/8" spacer require longer studs? :goingcrazy:
    Thanks for verifying.

    Ask @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc

Based on the description on their website for the 3/8” spacers, I’d say longer studs are necessary.

That sucks, 10 percent off made it really cheap.
Trdparts4u is still selling it for $1500

Correct. It would be best to purchase the studs with the spacers to ensure safe and proper installation.

Anybody have any idea of the ride quality by adding toytec 1" spacer? It sounds like it'll be stiffer.

It would be stiffer because it's pre loading the spring. No idea on how it rides.

    :D Picked up today.

Dumb question here, but the springs I've got have "A/T" on them. It makes me wonder, is/was there a "M/T" spring?
