Few weeks ago I put my diff drop in and lowered the Kings about a half inch and the angles looked a lot better but the damage was already done to the CVs I think. Shoulda done the drop back when I put the suspension in.

I'm counting on those CV axles I bought off of your cousin to hold up now, lol

Just make sure the boot fins aren't touching. Causes friction then they tear. Can't remember who Chris got his high angle boots from but that solved his problems. Maybe CVJ. We lowered his truck a lot and his fins were still touching. Couldnt go any lower cause he wasnt clearing the 33s anymore.
The high angles are red so they would look kinda cool on you truck

A rebuild from the guy in CO? I certainly liked his support. I actually had custom length shafts made so I wouldn't hose my inners any longer. :)

Will do. If they're still touching I'll lower it a bit more, but after the diff drop and lowering the Kings a few weeks ago the angles looked good...but the CVs were popping pretty bad before-hand and continued to pop/clunk afterward too so I think all that binding just did them in (or at least the driver's side, but I'm getting both replaced).

I had zero issues with it when I had the 5100/OME setup so I know that height works, if I have to I'll lower it a tad more back to that height.

Gonna see how the used OEM replacements I picked up over summer work out, if this happens again I'll definitely be looking into something more custom or at least the high angle option from CVJ.

Yeah they're orange from what I remember. Red truck, blue coilovers and orange cv boots...I just need something green on my truck and I'll complete the rainbow

When do you get it back? Maybe we could do a small mod day at my place next weekend...shop just told me that my front brakes need to be replaced but I'm going to do that myself, next weekend hopefully

They said about a week but maybe sooner since they aren't that busy right now.

I also need to replace my brakes. I have new rotors and pads sitting here.

Take the diff drop out and see if you still have clunking. A lot of people don't use em.

general consensus I got on TW was that they're helpful on 1st gens, but 2nd/3rd gens is a matter of debate :notsure:

It was more of a diff 'tilt' than anything...I was underwhelmed at how little it actually accomplished lol.

Well, got my truck back with the new (used) axles put in...and it's still popping on tight turns :bananadead: Just coincidental luck/timing that the CV boot exploded when it did I guess.

Fins aren't rubbing together on the boots anymore, so maybe I need to look elsewhere for the cause. Steering rack bushings maybe?

Looks like I'll be diving into face first into the bushings next.

No sway bar anymore so it's not that...can't really think of what else it could be. Lower ball joints were replaced with OEM ones about a year ago and they still look/feel good.

Hopefully it's just the bushing and not the whole LCA lol.
