It really sounds like these are... for what toyota intended-- a simple factory replacement for blown shocks on a stock truck.

After a few short trips this is how they'd probably look anyways from rocks. Sucks but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My stock springs sag and I use sumosprings now which is why I am putting in new leafs. But if all your hauling is air, you're probably right.

These rear shocks have an extended length of 24"1/8. The box says "TRD TACOMA PRO 5160 R"

For reference Bilstein lists the extended length of the regular 5160 as 24.06". (#25-242539)

I have had hard time tracking this down as Bilstein does not list it for this shock. If somebody with their lift installed could measure it would be awesome.

The 5100 rear shock has an extended length of 22.94"

Eta. I did find an extended length of 22.9" for the 4600 which is similar to stock TRD OR shock.

Etaa. Wheeler's lists the extended length of the OME 60091 shock, which is used with their springs, as 23.93".
I am going to run the TRD pro shocks with Icon complete springs which provide ~1.8" of lift.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I ran stock 5100s with Icon mini leaf pack and had no issues, these 5160s will be fine with that setup. Pretty sure Bilstein didn't re-engineer the 5160 for Toyota, retool the factory for the few shocks Toyota required.

1.5 inch lift in the rear will not cause any issues, too much conflicting information....

Ooh I ordered mine as well today.

I am thinking to install 1.5"block to the rear.

I would take this with a grain of salt, unless Marie can provide info. Like stated above, why would Bilstein do 2 different 5160 for the same truck?

Well it looks like the oem kit and aftermarket 5160 are the same, so I think they can handle 2" of rear lift. Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

Everything that i found online, shows they are the same as 5160 only with the TRD stamp. As others stated i dont think they made a whole different shock just to sell some to toyota.
