well today i got hauled off one of the ponds on campus by the campus police. they are building a new gym like 150 yards from this pond but they closed it off apparently because they were afraid of someone coming into the construction zone and hurting themselves... to make it worse finals week is next week and i only have 3 finals so i would have been able to slay em all week long. now i get to drive like 35 minutes to the nearest legal lake. the fishin was just warmin up too! pulled 7 out last night with a buzz bait in like an hour. this really gets my goat. freaking college campus and they think we are dumb enough to go over into the construction zone and hurt ourselves. its not like we cant just drive up into it either.

One word: Liability. Your college and the contractors don't want any.

Good luck on finding another good fishing spot.

x2 sounds like a sweet school. But anyways liability like said above, the school has to take into account people getting hurt and then sueing the school. Either way it sucks for you bro hopefully it wont be a long construction job and you can get back to pullin them things outta the water.

we actually have 4 ponds on campus. 1 i got thrown out of, another one just below that that i was told is closed as well. one tiny one with a few huge bass but its about the size of 2 tacomas next to eachother so it gets old. and then another one with so much algae and seaweed anything that gets pulled out of there is bound to have a million diseases

and the construction project is projected to take 2 more years so i will graduate by the time its done.

You say this like college kids don't do dumb shit on a daily basis. Maybe not you...Maybe not this time. But there have been plenty of kids with alcohol poisoning and falling out of windows drunk- even tho they have been taught about how bad things can happen when you over indulge.

You might be smart...but the next dood to follow you in there and get messed up- He'll sue everyone.

i know college kids do dumb things on a daily basis and im sure i have as well but there is a road driving right up to the construction area. i see what everyone is saying about being sued though. the way i see it if you are dumb enough to hurt yourelf then fine. deal with it. dont sue the school because of it though. but thats not society these days

Exactly! These courts need a huge kick to the balls if you ask me, if I was a judge and heard a story about some idiot getting hurt on someones property due to their own stupidity and they were trying to sue the property owner I would tell them to get the fuck out of my court house. And then give them a huge ass fine.

There is a small dirt road that goes to the main pond. They put a chain across thinking no one could go through the ditch and trees on the side. Those bastard underestimate my little tacoma
