I recently purchased a used Undercover Classic bed cover. I'm really enjoying it, not having to worry about keeping a toolbox, jumper cables, tow chain, hatchet and shovel handy.

The cover has an LED light built in. I replaced the batteries (2 but does it take 3?), but can't get it to work properly. If i insert them negative side first, nothing happens. If I insert them positive side first, the LEDs light up, but won't turn off.

There seems to be a thin ring inside the battery compartment, but it's only wide enough to cover the height of one battery. Is this an insulator, or just a spacer? It seems to be conductive.

Does anyone have any kind of an assembly schematic, so I can be sure I'm putting it together correctly? I can't seem to find one on the web.

    Thanks,

    Mikerizer

Maybe the lights only come on when the bed cover is raised?? :notsure:

Mine has a light but is small and useless. You'll need to install something else if your going to see anything at all after dark.

My undercover flex tonneau came with LED light strips... when I turned them on to test them... pressing the button once to turn them off didn't do anything. I figured out that I had to press the button twice in quick succession to turn the lights off.

    So...

    1 Press = On
    2 Quick Presses = Off

    Did you try that?

Thanks for the replies...I bought a new unit from Amazon. I think the old switch is just bad. The button doesn't move properly when pushed.

It's waaaaay brighter than that rinky-dink light that came with the cover. It lights up the whole bed!
