Until then I found a lot of good info on youtube and this guy wrapped his truck a couple times here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/matte-white-vinyl-wrap.241083/

I met up with him last year to buy the ipad bezel off of him and his truck still looked decent. He had went with cheaper material the second time and the rain would stain it until it dried out a day or so after a storm...

This was the best write up I found on any forum:

I probably won't make a video of the wrap getting done, but there will for sure be a few pictures and I'll be happy to share any knowledge learned in the process.

Needing to have my fenders painted and all this talk about wraps not being horrible has me thinking.

My front fiberglass is holding up well with paint but the rear were painted last spring and they look effing terrible with a million white chips everywhere. So that’s the reason I’m wrapping it. I don’t care about scratches but to have green with a million white dots just looks retarded.

The thing that kicked my ass when I did the wrap was trying to keep the wrap from wrinkling and creasing around curves. Like around the tail and head lights.

    Sounds like a plan

My fenders were painted 8 years ago and have held up well. I’m ok with chips and scratches. It’s the fading and wearing off that bugs me. I’ve had several people including, my wife that doesn’t notice these, things ask if I’m going to paint the fenders soon. Plus I found the roof starting to fade and peel.

I'm gonna ask a really dumb question
And I'm gonna hope you guys just humor me

I took my 2.5 bumps off my truck so I can repaint the mounts and I wanted to take the bumps out of the sleeve

How the shit do they come out

I can't get that castle nut looking nut to even budge

    Am I missing something?

I know mine were pretty tight going on even after cleaning the threads really good. Plus they were a tight fit into the sleeve.

Sorry no advice, but good luck

Yes once the bit is off there is nothing but friction holding it in the sleeve

hopefully its not over torqued and threads stripped. might be better off taping off and painting it.

    I doubt it's stripped
It is pretty new (6mo old)
So it was threaded on my hand and then torqued
So unless the guy doing it went full gorilla I will just assume it's just stuck haha

I was pretty sure it was just that single nut holding it in place but I was working on something else when they got put on so I didn't notice how it was "installed" and was just making sure I wasn't overlooking something simple just because I was getting frustrated.

I'm sure by now all of us are universally familiar with taking a break when we start to get irritated

Rather to take a "smoke break and drink some bourbon" and come back to it in a few minutes than try to plow through and destroy something
